This blade feels extremely close to the feel you'd get from pre-boosted rubber, or the feel from the old organic-solvent era — it's an absolute rocket of a blade.
The way topspin drives and flat hits carry through, and the sharp angle at which they come down into the opponent's court, are outstanding — given this level of raw destructive power, I think the price is unavoidable.
On the other hand, receives and the short game are quite delicate with this blade, so rather than relying on spin, I think you need to focus your practice on quick contact timing, sharp pushes and stops, and flicks that lean more toward an aggressive flat hit. Or, if you're okay with the ball floating a little, you need to be able to get it on the table first and then fight your way back with a blocking game — otherwise you'll keep losing points on the short game and receives and never get to show what this blade can really do.
As for rubber, it's not that tacky rubber can't be used, but since it makes you more sensitive to the opponent's spin, I think tension rubber on both forehand and backhand is easier to handle and brings out the blade's characteristics better.
If you're a speed junkie who wants to overwhelm opponents with raw destructive power, why not give this a try at least once?Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness Little soft

Just like the reviews say, the Jun Mizutani Super ZLC is fast, with a fairly flat trajectory. It's not as extreme as the old Butterfly hinoki + T5000 combo, but because the initial speed is so high, the ball tends to fly flat and then dip sharply as it lands on your opponent's side. It behaves like the stiff blade it is.
As for input response, the Viscaria Super ALC responds well to around 30-80% effort, whereas the Super ZLC performs best with 50-100% effort, and I felt its ceiling is higher.
I'm using Xiom 03 on the backhand, and I think anyone who can already handle a Viscaria Super ALC would have no trouble with this blade either. It also seems to pair well with a slightly less sensitive tension rubber, but since the ball comes off the blade quickly, choosing a rubber that matches your own impact is important. I'd also recommend it to people who don't get along well with the wild feel typical of ALC blades.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness little hard

I used it at an international tournament in China, but just because it's a Super ZLC doesn't mean the ball flies easily on its own — you really have to generate it yourself. Blocks and counters I could manage through sheer technique. It's stiff, so the short game is hard to do. If you hit it half-heartedly, the ball either drops short or sails long, so you have to be careful.

This is one of Butterfly's ultra high-end blades.
As a comparison, both set up with Dignics 80 on both sides, versus the Jun Mizutani ZLC:
- The feel is harder than the Jun Mizutani ZLC (ZLC from here on). On hard hits, it feels close to a plain wood paddle, which personally I found pleasant.- Compared to the ZLC, serves and the short game are harder to control, and you need to practice not to overshoot.
- Backhand blocking to keep the rally going was quite a bit easier than with the ZLC.
- In topspin rallies, I don't feel like I can lose. The backhand is also more stable, so you can trade shots much more comfortably than with the ZLC.
- The blade itself releases the ball quickly, and since I was using Dignics 64, you can more or less ignore weak incoming spin. On the other hand, strong pushes and similar shots are difficult, so I felt it's a bit less versatile than the ZLC.
That's the simple comparison.
I felt this is a blade packed with everything a player without much muscle strength needs to beat a stronger opponent.
If you can master it, it's a gem on a level where nothing beats it.
If you're interested, I'd recommend buying one early and putting in a lot of practice with it.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness hard

Speed, arc height, and ball power are all beyond complaint.
Because it's so bouncy, it's a bit hard to change pace, but the topspin drives are fast, and surprisingly the ball doesn't fly in a flat, straight line.
The ball comes off about as fast as with the ZLC.

I'm currently using the normal Jun Mizutani ZLC, but I wanted to keep the same feel while boosting the power, so I bought the Super ZLC.
■ Feel: The normal ZLC is an outer blade with a moderate amount of "flex," which makes it easy to put spin on the ball, but the Super ZLC felt quite stiff, probably because the special fiber weave is doubled. The ball also comes off faster on contact, and I felt less sense of grabbing the ball for spin. On the plus side though, the bounce felt the same no matter where on the blade I hit, so basically the whole blade was a "sweet spot."
■ Rubber compatibility: I use the 05, but brand new and freshly glued, the Super ZLC felt way too stiff and honestly unusable. Once I switched to the 80, it suddenly became surprisingly easy to hit, so I feel like the FX series, 64, or Rozena would be even easier to use on this blade.
■ Summary
- The blade itself releases the ball very quickly, so it suits players without much power
- It's stiff and bouncy, so it's especially good for short pips users
- Pairing it with an FX-type rubber brings out the blade's own performance more easily
