A real all-rounder.
From smashes to the short game, even the spin techniques that short pips usually struggle with felt stable.

I put this on a chopper's blade and it feels great. Not only is it easy to vary your chops, but the hard hits are what really stand out. I had it on the backhand, but I think it could return some nasty smashes on the forehand too.
Backhand serves can also produce some surprising balls, so against an opponent who isn't used to it, you could probably throw them off with serves alone.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft

Used on the front side of a single-sided penhold with short pips.
Serve
It puts spin on the ball well, so both forehand and backhand serves were pretty easy to do, and I could vary the amount of spin too.
Receive
It's somewhat affected by the opponent's serve spin, but the control was good enough to make up for that.
Forehand topspin drive
For short pips it grips a fair amount — it's not a tension rubber, but even so it felt like it held onto the ball to some degree.
Forehand smash, forehand flat hit
I felt the ball was a bit slow. It was easy to control, but a floating push, for example, often got picked off easily by the opponent. Placing the ball around the table was easy though.
Backhand block
It's somewhat sensitive to incoming spin, so this part could be a bit tricky.
Push
Since it's easy to put spin on, pushes came out sharp and biting too.Overall
This was a rubber that made it easy to put spin on the ball. The slightly slow speed and sensitivity to the opponent's spin are drawbacks, but control makes up for it. I'd recommend it for beginners or for a penhold short-pips fast-attack style player.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Soft

For me, this is a really great rubber — soft and easy to control. Player Muramatsu also uses it, so I figured it must be easy to use. It's perfect.

I used this for attacking play. First off, this isn't really suited for attacking — I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to put spin on the ball with short pips. Even though it's short pips, this rubber makes it easy to put spin on and hit topspin drives. If you want to add spin while using short pips, definitely give it a try!

At first I figured short pips wouldn't put much spin on the ball at all. But once I actually tried it, it put a decent amount of spin on. I'd already been chopping back when I used inverted rubber, so chopping with this was very easy. Topspin drives were also fairly easy to hit. If you're using short pips for the first time, give it a try too!

I actually tried it and found it really easy to use. This was my first time using short pips, but I could pull off pretty much every technique fairly easily.
