    The new weapon for blocking close to the table

    A-B-S is distinctively slower than our current Anti-Spin rubbers Gorilla and Grizzly and offers a much better control. On top of that A-B-S produces a very good spin reversal for a highly effective blocking game close to the table.

    At the same time A-B-S provides good attacking possibilities through aggressive pushing and lifting, especially on chopped balls.

    A-B-S and ANTI SPECIAL come with a new rubber mixture for the topsheet and a new type of sponge. Thus the rubbers come very close to our old frictionless long pimples.

      I used to play with an anti rubber called Diabolic from a certain table tennis shop. Compared to Diabolic, this one has less spin reversal and variation, and it's also weaker on attacking techniques like pushes, flicks, and meaty hits. However, the low, short bounce on blocks is fantastic — I think it's the easiest rubber out there for producing a double-bounce block. I think this rubber is best suited not for someone trying to score off the anti's variation, but for someone like me who thinks of the anti as a chance-making rubber that sets up a forehand attack.

      I'm a chopper.
      This was my first time buying a Neubauer.
      It's made to order, so I had to wait about a month.
      The sponge is thin, so unless you make thin contact, the ball hits the blade.
      My overshoot misses increased.
      The cause is my own lack of skill.
      Someone who can chop thin might be able to make good use of it.
      Attacking got easier, but my backhand chops weren't stable, so I switched to a version with a max-thickness sponge line.
      Someday I'd like to be able to use this well.

      This is a speedy long pips rubber. It's maybe not that well suited for choppers — I'd buy it if there were a thinner sponge option. It's an aggressive type that competes with its range of variation while still going on the attack!
