This was the very first rubber I used when I started playing penhold with short pips.
It's quite easy to control, a real classic short-pips feel. It doesn't bounce too much,
and I remember flat hits and smashes being easy to land. That said, spin is harder to put on the ball because of it, but you can still hit enough topspin to keep a rally going.
(For beginners)
If you want to eventually move on to a speed-oriented short pips rubber, I'd recommend building your basics with this one before trying something like Spectra. It's cheap and lasts a long time too.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little hard

I used the short-pip, medium-thickness version for chopping. At first I couldn't hold it down and kept overshooting, but once I got used to it, it wasn't a problem. As a chopper, the things I liked were that knuckle chops came out really easily, making it hard for opponents to keep up with the variation, and that my pushes stayed low and stable.

I use the small-pips version, and even though it's a short pips rubber, every once in a while the pips fold over and give you a long-pips-like effect. Even I was surprised by that, haha. In practice matches, it's happened enough that people ask me afterward, "Is that a pips-out rubber?" The control is good too, so I'd recommend it to beginners as well.

This is a rubber I used back when I first started playing table tennis. Honestly, I don't remember much about what it was like (lol) But one thing that stuck with me is how easy it was to handle. You can control the ball right to where you're aiming. On top of that, it still gives you a decent amount of that classic short-pips knuckle effect, so I'd recommend it to anyone using short pips for the first time.

It doesn't generate much power, but it goes exactly where you aim it. Nothing especially stands out about it, but the ball is stable and easy to use. I think it's the best choice as an entry-level short pips rubber.
