NO.1 table tennis review site

This is a rubber with quite a lot of speed. The sheet grips the ball well too, so spin is easy to put on. It's labeled hard, but it's not actually that hard, so I think even beginners can use it comfortably. Personally I feel it's in the high-performance category. Performance-wise, it's like a speed-oriented tension rubber with a bit of extra spin added on.

Used on the forehand of a discontinued Butterfly ALC.
Since it's billed as German-made and hard, I figured it would be pretty stiff, but it wasn't really like that.
The spin on a thin, sharp-brushed loop drive was quite good, but the amount of spin otherwise felt about average.
When hitting from further back I wanted a bit more grip, so I'd say it's good up to mid-distance, not further back than that.
Pushing and blocking were fine, but I found the stop a bit tricky. The touch on the ball feels very lifeless.
It's hard to do subtle little tricks with it, but I do think it's an honest, easy-to-hit rubber.
Setting the forehand aside, it might be just right for someone whose backhand isn't very skillful.

It's not a bad rubber, but it's not one I'd buy at the full retail price of 5,000 yen these days either.
It bounces too much for beginners, so maybe it suits someone who has the basics down and plays close to the table with a fast swing, wanting speed. Even so, you can get a popular German rubber for the same price range.

Honestly, I didn't need the bonus protective sheet made for tacky rubbers that came with it. Just give me a normal one.

I put the medium sponge version of Sanarion C on the forehand. The backhand is Roundell Soft thick.
It pairs a slightly hard 47.5-degree (German scale) sponge with a softer sheet, and the tension is pretty strong, just like the Soft version.

The techniques I found especially easy to pull off were the smash and the speed drive. Thanks to the strong tension, you can hit drives and smashes with quite a lot of speed and a low trajectory. On top of that, the ball doesn't feel like it flies off before the spin fully takes, so you can even lift balls with heavy backspin. As for short-game technique, the Soft version tended to fly off the table too easily on light touches, but maybe thanks to the hard sponge, I felt like light touches were much less likely to send the ball flying off the table with this one. It also has decent grip on the ball, so if you chop through it sharply you can hit a low, long, sharp push.

Given all this, I'd recommend this rubber to players who want to focus on speed drives and smashes, or to players like Kaii Yoshida who chop hard over the table and then counter when the opponent lifts the ball.

This is a hardcore speed rubber like Bryce. Bryce High Speed came out recently and, sure enough, that one bounces like crazy, but this one has noticeably less bounce than that (though it's still quite bouncy compared to a normal tension rubber) and a bit less spin as well. It suits players who play a fast style of table tennis and can consistently get solid impact on the ball. If you can get that impact, you'll be able to fire off powerful shots one after another! This is a rubber for intermediate players and up, really best for advanced players!

Switched from Bryce Speed.
It doesn't bounce quite as much as Bryce, but it still grips for spin. Once you get used to it, the short game gets easier too.
