Kinkyi (Experience: 6〜10 years) Long pips you can attack with

The speed and feel on a smash are excellent. When you hit it flat and hard, it has attacking power on par with short pips.
It's soft, so pushes and topspin off the pips are easy too, but it doesn't just vary the ball on its own from a plain hit. Getting a lot of variation or chopping the ball hard needs a proper swing to match.
A light push against a knuckle ball produces the wobble that's typical of long pips, but not enough to reliably force a mistake out of your opponent.

This might suit an all-around long pips attacker, or a chopper who attacks a lot, better than a short pips blocker or a chopper who scores through variation.

Inadvertently Hatobei (Experience: 6〜10 years) Long pips suited for experts

      Reviews by user

I use this as a long-pips penhold player.
Unlike Grass D.TecS, with this rubber just making contact only produces a plain knuckle ball.
To cut, wobble, or otherwise make the ball hard for the opponent to hit, you have to draw out the pip-drag effect to its fullest.
After impact, you need fine technique — pulling back, returning, or twisting the racket.
I don't think I'd recommend this to someone who can't do the drop-block, which is a basic long-pips technique.
On the other hand, for an experienced long-pips player, it doesn't bounce too much, has decent control, and you can also hit flat with it, so I think it's usable.
Among long-pips rubbers it's a model student, but if I had to nitpick, I would have liked just a bit more of a quirky character to it.

Of all the long pips I've used, I think this is the one where the pips fold over most easily, and it's the softest.
However, it flies a lot, so it's tough for choppers who prioritize control, and I think it's better suited to penhold long pips players.
It feels easy to block with sidespin and other sidespin-type shots.

The first thing I thought when I used this was that chopping is easy.
So it's a rubber I'd recommend for choppers.

It has more distance than Curl P1 Soft, yet it's stable and lets you chop low. It's also easy to add variation with topspin drives and blocks, and when you really need to, you can attack too — the power's a bit low, but it's there.

Yutchi @ cut Tension long pips

      Reviews by user

I'm not really a fan of tension long pips, but a friend gave me some so I tried it out. Personally, I still don't like it - there's no feeling of driving the ball forward yourself, so it doesn't feel like I'm using it well lol. For someone who's a good fit and can really use it properly, though, it's a rubber that delivers incredibly high performance. If you're like me and prefer long pips that don't bounce much, I can't recommend this one - it's not quite on the level of Grass, but compared to something like Curl P-4 it's a completely different animal. If you're the type who can keep at it patiently until you master it, this might be a good one for you!

      Choppuman (Experience: 4〜5 years) A chopper's perspective

      Reviews by user

Since it's a tension rubber, it bounces a ton. (Not quite as much as Glass, but still.)

And the pips are soft, so you can generate your own spin.

If you make solid contact for a chop, it cuts really well.

For attacking, if you square up the racket properly and smack it — bam! — it flies off at incredible speed.

Recommended for players who want to chop,

and for players who want to attack with long pips.
