I put the Attack8 EXX, thick, on my backhand. It was really easy to use and honestly kind of shocking.
It's true — it keeps that nasty pips-like quality while still letting you drive and counter. It might be the 'safe' choice within the Attack8 line, but it's stable, so I'll be sticking with it for a while. There are times I don't even know what kind of ball came off my own racket, which makes it a fun rubber.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Soft

I used this on the backhand of a Chinese penhold blade. My impression after trying it is that control is really difficult. Miss the sweet spot on the blade even slightly and you'll net it; sink it in too much and you'll go long... In the hands of a skilled player it's a very powerful rubber, but I can't recommend it to beginners or anyone using short pips for the first time. That said, if you can master it, I think it's a really troublesome rubber for opponents — you can vary the spin to make it hard for them to attack, or mix up the pace in doubles, and so on.
It's a tough rubber, but it's fun to use, so if you do pick it up, practice with it and see if you can throw your opponents off!All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft

I'm an amateur chopper. Ever since the switch to plastic balls, my pushes off the long pips on my backhand haven't been biting at all. Short pips like a knuckle type would still bite, but the chop itself just doesn't have any bite to it. I went through a lot of trial and error with equipment, but once I switched to this rubber, I gained two new weapons.
First, the push. When I try to cut it, sometimes it bites, sometimes it doesn't... honestly, I can't really control how much spin I put on it. But it still lands on the table. On top of that, by flipping the racket and mixing in pushes off the inverted side, I've forced even more mistakes out of opponents.
The other one is blocking. When I go to stop an opponent's attack up close, it produces this weird ball I can't quite describe. With long pips, opponents can just push it back, but with this rubber the return floats up. That leads to them going long or giving me a chance ball.
It's harder to keep the ball low than with pure long pips, but in my case, my chops come down somewhat high but deep, which makes it easier to get ready for the next ball. It's not as easy to hit with as short pips, but you can still hit; it's not as easy to push through with as long pips, but you can still push through.
Lately, my main game has really just been self-satisfying topspin drives, but since switching to Attack8, I've been able to score points about as well as I do with my main style. This is a rubber that lets you fully enjoy being a chopper!All Speed Spin Control Hardness Soft

I used the medium thickness for chopping. Personally, I found that knuckle chops and knuckle blocks work really well against opponents. Just playing normally with it already annoys people a lot.
That said, it takes time to get used to, so I wouldn't pick it as your first short-pips rubber.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little hard

I use M-pips on my backhand, and unlike other short pips, it gives you a receive like long pips along with speed like the VO series. It's not easily affected by incoming spin, so flicking off a receive or driving against backspin both feel easy.
As for control, this rubber makes it easy to hit straight backhands like Harimoto does. It also gives the impression of not losing out even in extended rallies, and you can add variation right from the receive. It might be a bit tough as your first short-pips rubber, but once you can use it well, it's the rubber opponents hate facing the most.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little hard

These are my impressions after borrowing a friend's racket to try it out.

I only played against someone using this rubber once,
and it was unbelievably hard to deal with.
On top of that, they'd hit off my receive or push me around too —
