It took me a while to get used to it, but once you do, I think it's a really strong rubber. Serving and pushing with the pips brings a lot of easy chance balls, and I've been able to score more points because of it. It's also really easy to lift backspin with, so out of all the irregular rubbers I've used, this is my favorite!

I'm using L-pips on the backhand of my secondary attacking blade!
First off, even though it's a variation-type short pips rubber, it goes in with normal short-pips strokes and produces tons of knuckle balls, lol. You can also hit backspin easily, so I think it's easy to use even for people who aren't confident swinging on the backhand. With L-pips, even pushes surprisingly pick up some spin.
It's surprisingly easy to use, so I can also recommend it to people switching over from inverted rubber!All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft

I'm the Rallies devotee who posted before. I switched my forehand to Glayzer, so I've converted to Butterfly. I used to be a guy who never used meet shots on pips, which honestly made no sense, but once I started meeting the ball on both topspin and backspin, I realized something — it's super easy to meet the ball with this. And since it's a knuckleball, opponents keep dropping their blocks right into the net. It's a god rubber. Speed is decent too. I said before I'd go back to Moristo, but I take that back. That said, since this was my first short-pips rubber (switching over from long pips) and I picked medium-thick, I had trouble blocking, so I'm switching to OX. Sticking with Attack 8. That's it.

This one's tough. If you just push normally, it gets read and attacked every time, so you basically have to work the ball into their backhand or use a stop/feint to survive. Give up on spin — it's not really a rubber built for spin anyway. Blocking doesn't stay stable if you do it normally, so you need to swing lightly and a bit upward to get it in. Blocking control is excellent. Attacking is tough too — it's basically a grinding game. If you don't really think about positioning before you hit, everything gets read, so good luck if you're about to start using this. But one thing's for sure — it's annoying enough that opponents keep clicking their tongue at you. It's tough for me so I'm about to switch to Moristo SP though.

I'd recommend this to players trying a variation-type short pips rubber for the first time.
In particular, get a feel for it with the thin thickness first, then adjust the hardness or thickness afterward to widen your range on both offense and defense.
Knuckle balls sometimes come out automatically, so I think it makes things about as awkward as possible for your opponent.

My blade is the discontinued Nittaku Hurricane One-Nan. This is the Attack 8 M-pips, 40 degree hardness, standard max thickness. I was originally a short-pips penholder, then switched to shakehand as an adult, so my backhand is really weak. I basically alternate my backhand between inverted rubber and this Attack 8 every couple of years or so. When I switch from inverted rubber to regular short pips, the ball just slides off and I can't hit anything at all, but for some reason, with this Attack 8 M-pips — even though it barely grips the ball — I can hit drive-ish shots with a soft touch and it strangely doesn't slide off. My weapons are, of course, the push that looks like it has backspin but really has none at all, and the block that returns the ball with a soft, stable "poyon" bounce. For me, this is a godly rubber.

The Attack 8 48° is easy to attack with and easy to produce knuckle balls too. It gives a decent arc, so it's easy to handle.
