Highly rated as an ideal rubber for transitioning from pimpled rubbers, particularly suitable for attacking-oriented play with drives and smashes. However, it has notable limitations in spin generation and dealing with backspin.
    ■ Frequently Mentioned Points
    • Optimal ball feel for transitioning from pimpled rubber
    • Excellent for earning points with drives and smashes
    • Stable backhand drive with good speed
    • Lightweight with superior operability
    • Modest spin generation capability
    ■ Representative Voices
▲ PositiveThe ball feel resembles pimpled rubber, making it ideal for transitioning from pimpled rubber. It's easy to control and generates good speed, especially excellent for backhand drives.
▽ CriticalEarly ball separation and moderate hardness make it weak against spin-oriented play and backspin, which may not suit modern table tennis well.

Wakaba Drive Easy to counter-push Verified Purchase

      Reviews by user

I'm using this on the backhand, with short pips on the forehand of a shakehand blade.
In topspin exchanges, I didn't feel there were any particularly difficult techniques involved.
Drives against backspin were a bit tricky since the ball leaves the racket quickly, but I think that's something you can cover with practice.
My scoring pattern was often drive, then push or smash.
Pairing it with Gouriki made meeting shots land more consistently and added more power to the ball as well.
Since this is a light rubber, I think it pairs really well with Gouriki.

Rath (Experience: 11〜20 years) Both topspin drive and clean hitting

      Reviews by user

The feel and sound on contact are just satisfying.
The sheet feels similar to the Fastarc line. It's forgiving, easy to control, and you can still put plenty of spin on the ball.
Compared to Rozena, the sheet feels stronger, and even with a thin brush the ball didn't drop much.
Compared to the original Mantra, this one leans a bit more toward drives than pure meeting shots, but I think the overall balance has improved.
The raw spin level falls short of the latest spin-oriented tension rubbers, so if you try to out-spin an opponent's strong spin, it can be tough, but overall it settles into a well-balanced performance that suits a lot of beginner to intermediate players.
I'd especially recommend it to players whose scoring pattern is a third-ball drive followed by a fifth-ball smash. It's reasonably priced too, so it's worth trying at least once.

7-plywood supremacist Great for switching from pips, ideal for backhand drives!

      Reviews by user

I picked this up because I wanted to try the violet colored rubber. After using it, my impression is that it's ideal for backhand drives. It's a pretty good rubber on the forehand too, but I felt it suits the backhand better. It's easy to get the ball in, and you can generate speed too. Personally, I feel it's ideal for players transitioning from short pips. The feel on contact is similar to short pips, and you can hit with pretty much the same stroke and still get the ball in, so I'd highly recommend it. On the forehand it's best for players who like meeting the ball; on the backhand it's ideal for players looking for stability and speed on backhand drives.

Cyberniki (Experience: 2〜3 years) Super easy to attack backspin

      Reviews by user

My first impression was that it doesn't put a lot of backspin on the ball. Sidespin is so-so. But it's incredibly easy to hit against backspin with (૭ ᐕ)૭ Whether it's a speed-oriented hit or a loop against a chop, it has the kind of momentum that doesn't miss. I'd recommend it as a third or fourth rubber to try.

      Reviews by user

This is a lightweight rubber that flies a moderate amount, is easy to control, and lasts a long time
That said, the feel on contact is on the light side
I think it's ideal for topspin rallies
It's suited for players somewhere between beginner and intermediate level

table tennis mania (Experience: 6〜10 years) Switching over from short pips!

      Reviews by user

I switched to this from short pips on my forehand.
I used to play VICTAS's 101, a short pips rubber that produces knuckle balls easily, and moving from that to inverted rubber, I could hit with pretty much the same feel without having to change much.
So for anyone like me who wants to move from short pips to inverted rubber, I can highly recommend this one.
It's a rubber built for players who like to drive through the ball, so the ease of putting spin on it and that "sinking in" feeling are a bit weaker.
I don't think it suits players who drive a lot. Compared to other rubbers, it's more prone to dropping the ball against chop returns. I have it on a Tomokazu Harimoto blade, which has a fast ball release, so I felt it might come together better with a bit more balance if paired with something that grips the ball more easily, like an Innerforce ALC.
I'd recommend this rubber to players who want to score with meeting shots, or with one big hit like a smash!!

pen meet (Experience: 6〜10 years) Hard to aim precisely...

      Reviews by user

Using max thickness on the backhand of my Libertà Gloriuos Japanese penhold.
Since this is a speed-oriented tension rubber rather than a spin-oriented one, the ball leaves the racket quickly, so it feels harder than its listed hardness.
The bounce is outstanding, to the point where it almost feels like too much.
When I used to play Mantra S, the rubber was soft enough that even a sloppy hit would go in - the ball quality wasn't great, but the control on thick contact shots and blocks was excellent, which made it useful for meeting-style players. With this rubber, though, the fast ball release and hardness get in the way of that.
The trajectory is flat, and neither the spin nor the control on drives is particularly high.
What felt fatal to me was how weak it is against backspin.
If you're used to spin-oriented tension rubbers, I think you'll dump a lot of balls into the net with this one.
On top of the quick ball release, the sheet itself isn't that grippy to begin with, so it slips when you brush it thinly.
Performance-wise it's speed-focused, but between the fast release and the moderate hardness, meeting shots aren't very stable, and the ball quality isn't enough for forehand use - honestly, I felt it doesn't really fit modern table tennis.
