      Blade: Koji Matsushita (+ side balancer x10)
      Forehand: Hurricane PRO2 (max thickness)
      Backhand: Spectol S1 (1.6) → Speedysoft MY (1.6)
      Weight: 184g → 186g
      Sheet feel: has grip like S1 (more speed-oriented than spin-oriented?).
      Sponge: red sponge. I expected it to be hard, but it's not that hard.
      I haven't tried chops yet so I can't say, but most other techniques feel easier and more stable than with S1.
      Even though the sponge is 7.5 degrees harder than S1, the ball still sinks in easily and it's easy to handle, so if S1 isn't stable enough for you, I think it's well worth using — in fact, worth enough that you won't regret buying it.

      Addendum: subjectively, chops travel about 30% shorter distance than with S1.
      Also, for chops, I think it's easiest to pause for a moment and push either straight down or slightly forward from there (ideally carrying it all the way through to the end of the swing in one motion).
      When mounted on a ZC, S1 became easier to use, so I think if you have a soft blade, MY is better, and if you have a hard blade, S1 gives more stable defense.
      In exchange, (as expected) stability increases.
      Also, it holds up well against humidity.

      Using red, 1.6mm on a stock Koji Matsushita blade
      My impression is that it's like Challenger Attack with harder pips and a slightly thicker sheet
      The pips are hard and don't slip much, so pushes and attacking shots are more stable compared to other short-pips rubbers. You can also switch between a sharp chop and a knuckle ball, which is really nice
      Control is a bit tricky though — "doesn't slip much" also means it's easier to pick up the opponent's spin, so if your contact on a chop is off, combined with the hardness of the pips, the ball flies further than it would chopping with Spectol
      I'd recommend this to people who are confident in controlling short-pips chops and want to stabilize their other techniques. On the other hand, it's not very suited to people picking up short pips for the first time, or people who want reassuring stability on chops.

      The spin is just absurd. If you brush the outside of the ball with a snap of the wrist, you get about twice as much spin as you'd expect. You can also send a knuckle chop, just as you'd expect from short pips. On top of that, when receiving a long serve, you have plenty of options — chop, a long-pips-like sliding return, push, or a flat block. Since it's short pips, floating balls come back without reversing spin, and you can also send back a really nasty chopped push. Yet, if you let it slide across the sheet on a push, you get a heavy knuckle ball that you can follow up with a smash. It's plenty competitive in backhand-to-backhand exchanges too, and of course you can lift backspin balls as well. You can also send a variety of nasty blocks. You can flip it over to make your forehand short pips too, catching opponents off guard on the receive or doing forehand flicks……… It's a dream rubber, but the sponge is a bit thick (I went with 1.6mm) and I felt it flies a bit too easily when chopping. As long as you watch out for that, you can send the strongest pushes and chops around!
