  • KOKI NIWA

    User review

Attack and defense close to the table are flawless. It's the perfect blade for mastering the kind of fast attacking game close to the table that Niwa plays.
Of course, topspin drives from away from the table work fine too.

Softer and bouncier than the Shoryu, with a noticeably lighter tacky feel.
No problems doing topspin rallies from away from the table either. Like the Shoryu, it gives a better impression when you let the ball sink in and drive through it rather than brushing it.
It doesn't have that distinct tacky-rubber quirkiness, so it's easy to use — probably ideal for tension-rubber users who want to try tacky rubber for the first time.

Now that spin-oriented tension rubbers are the mainstream, I didn't think there was any real need to go out of your way to use this one.
And it's expensive. Not funny. Might be suited as a step up from the Mark V, though.

I use the DHS 40-degree version, and it's no exaggeration to call it a top-tier rubber. It really tests whether you have the physical strength of a Chinese pro player.
I think Hurricane is the only rubber that can surpass Tenergy.

A bit harder than Tenergy 05, with really good balance and ease of use.
It performs well whether you use it on the forehand or backhand.
