  Heavy, fast, the ball wouldn't stay on the table — using it for the first time, it really felt like an unruly wild horse.

  Here are my impressions after using it for about a week.

  With its hard feel and high-pitched sound on contact, flat hitting feels incredibly satisfying.
  If you sink the ball in on a drive, the trajectory skims right over the net and can feel a bit unstable...
  On the other hand, when you brush the ball, it puts on more spin than I expected, and I was surprised at how it drew a clean arc and landed safely on the table.
  I think it's best to rely mainly on long serves and get into rallies.
  Even when receiving the opponent's serve, I'd recommend taking the initiative yourself with things like a short-game drive.
  If the serve floats up a bit, go ahead and smash it back hard with a flick or a flat hit.

  I compared the bounce against a Butterfly Galeidia T5000 by bouncing balls off both, and since the 290's blade is thinner, it has more flex, and I think its feel comes out on top. That said, the T5000 is lighter in weight, so it's a trade-off either way.
  The grip has a nice, slightly damp texture that's easy to hold, and I don't think you'd need to shave down the base of the handle.

  I'd recommend this blade to anyone who wants to overwhelm their opponent with ball speed and power!

  重い、速い、ボールが台に収まらない―――使い初めは正に暴れん坊といった感じでした。

  以下、一週間ほど使ってみての感想です。

  硬めの打球感と甲高い打球音により、ミート打ちは爽快感抜群です。
  ドライブは食い込ませて打つとネットスレスレの弾道で安定感に欠けるかも……
  その反面、擦って打つと思った以上に回転が掛かり、きれいな弧線を描いて台に収まったことに驚きました。
  サーブはロング主体にして、ラリーに持ち込むのが良いと思います。
  相手サーブの時でも、台上ドライブ等で自分から攻めていくのがおすすめです。
  浮き気味のサーブはフリックやミートで思いっきり打ち返しましょう。

  バタフライ製のガレイディアT5000との弾み具合を玉突きで比較しましたが、板厚が薄い分、290の方がしなりがあり、打球感ではこちらの方が上だと思います。ただ重量的にはT5000のが軽いので、一長一短です。
  グリップはしっとりとしていて握りやすく、根元を無理に削る必要もないと思います。

  球速や球威で相手を圧倒したい方にはお勧めのラケットです！
