The feel when hitting is like the SK7 —
it flies quite a bit, but maybe thanks to
    using spruce for the
    surface ply, the feel is
a little on the soft side.

It has plenty of power, and whether you're fighting
close to the table or far back, you won't lose out on power.

The blade shape is a bit different
from a typical one. The 3D handle grip
will probably really split opinion depending on whether it suits your hand.
For me, the spot where my thumb rests is slippery,
which actually makes it harder to use.

    The design is nice though.

This blade has a pretty hard feel.
When you hit a drive, instead of the ball flying off after you've put spin on it,
it feels more like the ball flies off before the spin really grabs.
That said, the ball's trajectory draws a fairly low arc,
so you can produce sharp shots that dig into the back of the opponent's court.
I feel like this is a blade for intermediate-to-advanced players who are confident in their drives.
Also, even when you're under pressure from the opponent's attack, thanks to the good rebound and the hardness of the wood,
you can still return balls that are pushing you back.
If you push, you get a nice low ball, so you can shift into a counter-attack without forcing a hard counter.

It has a squared-off grip so
    it's easy to hold!

The blade shape follows the Wang Liqin shape
and felt bigger than the listed size.

When you hit with it, since it's an inner-type blade
it grips the ball and flies incredibly well.
I never lose a topspin rally.
    Amazing blade‼️

I borrowed one and tried it out.

The catalog makes it sound like it doesn't bounce much,
but that's totally not the case.
It bounces a lot, and it makes a metallic sound almost like
a violin string, which makes hitting the ball
    fun.

Drives and blocks are both easy to hit, and
it's a blade that lets you return the ball without getting overpowered by the opponent's attacks.

That said, it's so heavy that using it for a long time feels like it could wreck your shoulder. It's a blade for people with a fair amount of strength. If you can master it, you can become quite the strong player.

  • JO WALDNER OFF

    User review

I compared the Waldner rackets head to head.
Waldner Off, Waldner Carbon, Waldner Ultra Carbon

    Ball release (initial speed)
Waldner Off > Waldner Carbon > Waldner Ultra Carbon
    Distance
Waldner Off ≈ Waldner Ultra Carbon > Waldner Carbon
    Ease of countering
Waldner Ultra Carbon > Waldner Carbon > Waldner Off
    Ease of hitting untouchable winners
Waldner Off > Waldner Carbon > Waldner Ultra Carbon

    Overall impression
Because the outer ply uses hard wood, the feel is on the hard side.
Since the initial speed is high, you can hit winners and it's also
an easy racket to smash with.
Since there's not much feeling of gripping the ball, putting spin on the ball is
difficult, and backhand topspin drives are only manageable if you really drive with your legs and hips - it's pretty hard.
