Special JO edition!
Re-release of the blade which Jan-Ove Waldner celebrated his greatest success with! Nearly 20 years after his World Championship title in the men`s singles competition in Manchester 1997 and nearly 25 years after his winning at the Olympics in Barcelona 1992 and at the end of his unique career DONIC offers a re-edition of the blade of the Swedish table tennis legend. The 5-times glued offensive blade perfectly combines speed with control - just like Waldner`s game. The blade is perfectly balanced and is made with specially selected veneers (Ayous, Scandinavian pine and Limba) that combine to create a unique feeling. Just as the original edition, the shape of the blade is slightly different to the usual DONIC blade shape and is more slender and oval. This blade completely presents Jan-Ove`s unique and distinctive style.
Waldner Offensive 2016: The legend lives on.

It has good grip on the ball and feels light, but bounces more than you'd expect.
It's also easy to put spin on.
It handles any kind of incoming ball easily and bounces just the right amount.
Thanks to the so-called JO shape, which has no flared shoulders on the blade,
and a carefully designed, slightly thin straight grip,
it has a freedom of control that feels like an extension of your hand.
It's a bit lacking in raw power,
but the control performance is high — you can aim for specific spots, or handle the ball with blocks and variation shots.
It's a blade that makes you want to try out all sorts of different techniques.
I don't think it's particularly picky about rubber pairings either.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness Little soft

I think this works for everyone from beginners to advanced players.
The upside is that it's easy to control and surprisingly fast for a 5-ply (with Fastarc S1 on it). I also think beginners will find it easy to put spin on their serves.
The downside, at least for me personally, is that my hands are small so the grip felt a bit large.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness Little soft

Light, and the control is GOOD!
I paired it with andro's GTT45, which is marketed as a beginner rubber.
It's a rubber that's said not to fly much, but since the blade itself flies well, it ends up nicely balanced -
if you swing, it goes in.You get a strong feeling of the ball sticking to the rubber,
and it gives you enough room to watch your opponent too.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness little hard

Beginner kid (Experience: 4〜5 years) Bounce you wouldn't expect from 5-ply wood!

I was surprised by the speed and initial velocity - it feels like a 7-ply or a special-material blade. On top of that, it's really easy to put spin on and the spin amount is high. I've tried a few carbon Waldner blades before, and none of them had quite enough bounce for me, but this blade is excellent in speed, initial velocity, spin, and control - I can't find a single flaw.
Chiquita and serves are easy to do, but pushes might pop up a little.
I think it pairs well with spin-oriented tension rubbers. Especially with a rubber that has strong sheet grip, it's easy to hit heavy topspin drives. Personally I feel the balance with Donic's Acuda is excellent. The performance you get for this price is simply amazing.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness Little soft

I compared the Waldner rackets head to head.
Waldner Off, Waldner Carbon, Waldner Ultra CarbonBall release (initial speed)
Waldner Off > Waldner Carbon > Waldner Ultra Carbon
Distance
Waldner Off ≈ Waldner Ultra Carbon > Waldner Carbon
Ease of countering
Waldner Ultra Carbon > Waldner Carbon > Waldner Off
Ease of hitting untouchable winners
Waldner Off > Waldner Carbon > Waldner Ultra CarbonOverall impression
Because the outer ply uses hard wood, the feel is on the hard side.
Since the initial speed is high, you can hit winners and it's also
an easy racket to smash with.
Since there's not much feeling of gripping the ball, putting spin on the ball is
difficult, and backhand topspin drives are only manageable if you really drive with your legs and hips - it's pretty hard.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness little hard

Nothing had really clicked for me so far, but I picked this one up on a whim and tried it, and it's surprisingly easy to use! What can I say — it's easy to control, has power, and spin too! Pretty good!

Blades with a similar feel include the Korbel, Hadraw VK, and Mercury Performance. In my opinion it works with any rubber and is easy to control, so it can be used by anyone from beginners to advanced players. The sweet spot is also nice and compact, so it's good for kids or women with less power too.
