Used max thickness.
I'd heard it was ridiculously hard, but when I actually hit with it, it felt surprisingly soft.
With a weak impact it doesn't bounce much, so over-the-table play is super easy.
For drives too, if you hit with a solid impact, you get amazing shots and it stays stable.
If you put max thickness on both sides, I think it'd be pretty heavy.

It's soft but flies like crazy.
But since it's an inner blade that makes spin easy to generate, it stays stable too.
The grip is a bit thin, so it'll probably split opinion.

I used max thickness.
My first impression was that it feels soft and easy to handle for its sponge hardness rating, and it's not that heavy.
In the short game it doesn't bounce too much and stays stable.
It reminds me a bit of G1 somehow...
It sinks the ball in more easily than G1 and flies better.
Up to this point it's a really good rubber, but it's a bit weak against humidity, and I sometimes felt it slip a little.
But if you wipe it down properly with a towel, it's not an issue at all.
I think this would make a really good weapon for someone who relies a lot on stop-to-speed-drive patterns.Overall Speed Spin Control Hardness Little hard

I use max thickness on both sides.
People say it's similar to Tenergy, but personally I didn't feel it was very similar.
With Tenergy, the ball sinks into the sponge no matter what position you're in, but with G-1 it only sinks in when you hit hard.
That said, I felt stops and angled shots were easier than with Tenergy, so I think it suits players who do more than just drive — it's good for an all-round game.
The spin and speed are both good, but compared to the max-thickness versions of other rubbers, the sponge feels thinner, so it doesn't carry the ball as much.
It's a rubber I'd really recommend for the backhand.

I was curious since it's a new release, so I bought it.
Compared to other outer ALC blades, it doesn't bounce as much and the feel wasn't great... maybe I got a bad unit?
Other outer ALC blades tend to snap the ball off crisply, but the Lin Gaoyuan felt like it absorbed the ball a bit and didn't fly as much.
That said, compared to other outer ALC blades, it lets you get spin on more consistently.If you're using an outer ALC and want a bit more stability, or feel like your current one flies too much, I think this one is perfect for you!
