    I felt like this rubber's performance doesn't match its price - in a good way.
    As for speed, even on a 5-ply all-wood blade,
    it puts out a crazy amount lol
    The spin might even rival Dignics or tacky rubbers.
    But it's pretty hard, so if your impact is half-hearted,
    both speed and spin tend to drop off.
    Flat hitting was easy to do too.
    One drawback is my impression that the sponge feels a little fragile.

    It's easy to lift backspin balls with this one.
    Even hitting from a really low position, it lifts the ball up nicely. The spin doesn't quite match Dignics or tacky rubbers, but it still generates plenty.
    Chiquitas and banana flicks over the table are easy too. If you hit with a thick contact, you get really nice shots.
    Pushes and short stops didn't tend to float up either.
    Counters should be easy too since the sheet is strong.
    That said, for better or worse this rubber produces a lot of arc,
    so I'd recommend it more for rally-based players than for those who go for one-shot kills.

  • HURRICANE LONG 5

    I reviewed the Long 5X before, but I've since changed rubbers, so here's a follow-up review.
    Forehand is National Hurricane 3 Blue sponge, thickness 2.2, hardness 41 degrees; backhand is Neo Provincial Hurricane 3 Orange sponge, thickness 2.1, hardness 37 degrees.
    As for the hitting feel, it's still soft as ever.
    Thanks to that, even with unboosted tacky rubber, it doesn't feel too hard to handle. Spin is easy to generate.
    Even hard topspin drives come out with solid power even with unboosted rubber. Changing rubbers also made the short game even easier.
    This is just my personal feeling, but I don't think tension rubber is a good fit for this blade. Even with my current rubbers I get quite a few overshoot misses, so I'd still recommend sticking with a low-flying rubber.

    This was the first blade I ever bought.
    The feel on contact is soft and the control is outstanding.
    Spin is easy to put on.
    As for speed... you get that once you glue on a tension rubber, lol.
    It's 5-ply, so the short game is stable.
    It doesn't bounce much, so chopping is also easy.
    Since it's soft, I'd recommend pairing it with a firmer tension rubber.
