I used to use the Yoshindong ALC, but I wanted more speed, so I bought this out of curiosity. At first, it felt hard and the ball left my hands quickly, making it difficult to control, but as I got used to it, the hardness became more accustomed and the ball held on better. It pairs well with sticky rubber, and I now enjoy the metallic sound it makes when I hit the ball solidly (lol). The stickiness of the rubber also makes it stop firmly on the table, so I have no complaints.
