NO.1 table tennis review site

This has the best feel of any carbon racket I've used.
I use a Chinese-penhold version at 89g.

It's a blade with a fairly large flare near the grip, and since the balance is designed a bit toward the handle, it doesn't feel heavy when you swing, and the sweet spot is wide too.
Think of the blade size as almost the same as the Tomokazu Harimoto series.

What surprised me is that even though it's what Butterfly calls an outer arylate-carbon racket, you can play the short game with a softness like a wood blade.
Being an outer, it doesn't resonate much in the hand, but the control is somehow great — in situations where you're not putting in power, it has a good kind of low bounce.
And yet when you want to hit hard yourself, the carbon comes through loud and clear.

With inverted rubber, the ball comes in on a stable arc even from far back.

The price is cheap, but the performance is like an upgraded Viscaria.
Oh, though the Viscaria is a bit faster, haha.

Both meet-hitting with short pips and backhand drives were all easy to do!

Switching over from the Swat Power.

This is the first outer blade I've used since high school.
(Back then I was using the Mace — discontinued now, brings back memories...)

Just like the maker claims, the feel is really good. It doesn't vibrate in your hand as much as a pure wood blade, but it's not too dead either — I'd say it has a really nice balance.

Maybe it's the combo with the G1, but even though it's an outer blade, it doesn't fly out on its own too much, and I didn't really notice any technique that was hard to pull off.

What really stands out is how it handles backspin and the short game. There's a real sense of grip on the ball, and topspin drives against backspin are stable on both wings. In the short game, stops and pushes weren't hard to do either, and the flick felt good overall.

My hands are quite a bit smaller than the average adult man's, but the grip shape (I'm using ST) personally didn't bother me much. If anything, it felt like a better fit than the Swat Power. Preference will vary though, so this is one you should really check out in person at a store.
