This is what I bought after the Mace. It's inverted rubber on both sides, so the short game is a bit iffy, but since I play mid-distance from the table, it feels pretty good for me. It felt like using a 5-ply. Since it's an all-wood blade, you get the feel of the ball directly. It's a good blade.

You get solid spin and it goes in consistently. Even though it's a 7-ply, it's as easy to use as a 5-ply. The trajectory is a bit on the high side. Both serves and short-game shots stay well controlled. I think it's a good blade that works for anyone from beginners to intermediate/advanced players.

Bought as a second blade for my daughter (3rd grade), who started with an Original Extra.
When I think of a Butterfly 7-ply, the SK7 comes to mind, but this one was totally different - light and easy to use.
It doesn't have any standout strengths, but it doesn't have any weaknesses either, so I think it's just right for the level right before stepping up to a carbon blade.
The grip is simple and nicely finished too, but I do wonder if the price couldn't be a bit lower.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness Little soft

It's great because you can do all kinds of techniques with it. It's stable on both offense and defense - drives, blocks, everything. That said, maybe it's just my own skill, but I had trouble getting speed on my smashes.

I'm in my first year of junior high, and this blade is really easy to use.
My Swat broke, so this is the blade I bought to replace it!
The spin feels about the same as the Swat, but the control is way better on this one!
Plus the smash speed is pretty fast too! Pushes are easy to do as well.
That said, the Swat is faster on light hits.
But looking at it another way, that means this blade makes it easy to vary your power.
This blade might be a little pricey, but it's easy to use and I think even beginners could handle it.
One thing to note - this might just be me, but the bottom of the blade is big and a bit hard to grip, so if you have small hands I'd recommend sanding it down a bit.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness Little soft

Paired with Rakza X Soft, when you sink the ball in and drive, you can really feel that 7-ply power. It's also a great blade for the short game.

Flicks and smashes are easy, and blocking is easy too, so it seems well suited for offense and defense close to the table.
But it's harder to use further away from the table.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness Soft
