    Customer Reviews SummaryAI Summary
The racket has gained overwhelming support from pen-grip attack-type players, with its excellent hit feel and stable performance in close-to-table techniques being highly praised. Its design of suppressing bounce is well-recognized to be optimal for front-court play, while unsuitable for back-court play.
    ■ Frequently Mentioned Points
    • Excellent hit feel and fast initial speed
    • Stable short-range techniques with reduced bounce
    • Easily neutralizes opponent's spin
    • Ideal for front-court attacks, not for back-court
    • Essential racket for pen-grip players
    ■ Representative Voices
▲ PositiveAfter 30+ years of pen-grip play, this racket stands out. The stiff blade is spin-insensitive, making flicks easy, and while initial speed is fast, the ball doesn't carry far. It's a masterpiece you can control with your own technique.
▽ CriticalIt's difficult to drive through powerfully from the back court. With limited bounce, maintaining mid-distance and playing up front becomes essential even when backing away.

Ballad of Nyanko (Experience: More than 20 years) This hitting sound is the best ♪

      Player reviews

I've been playing penhold with short pips for 30 years and have gone through more than 50 rackets.
Among them, the Aqua Blade stood out as excellent.
The blade is moderately hard and doesn't pick up spin easily, so it's good at neutralizing the opponent's spin. That makes flicks over the table easy, and I've scored more points off receives.
Also, the ball comes off fast right after contact, but it doesn't carry through. That makes it hard for opponents to handle, which is a big weapon. I also get fewer over-the-table misses.
Just tapping the ball keeps it shallow, so to get depth into the opponent's court you need to swing hard and fast yourself rather than relying on the racket. Put another way, it's a racket you control with your own power. That's one of its charms.
The sound depends on the rubber, but it rings out high and crisp, giving a real fast-attack feel that's satisfying.
The blade is 7-ply wood, and every ply is the same thickness. It's beautiful hinoki (Japanese cypress) wood.
This is a masterpiece I'd love for penhold short-pips players to try.

Driveman (provisional) (Experience: Less than a year) Close-to-the-table quick attack

      Player reviews

I used this with penhold short pips.
First, the feel is really good. The satisfying sensation when you smash is addictive.
The bounce is kept in check, giving good stability and control on attacking shots.
The ball leaves the racket quickly, so I think it's a perfect racket for close-to-the-table fast attack players who like to press at a high tempo.
I wouldn't recommend it for drive players, though.

Beautiful pen holder (Experience: 6〜10 years) Great match with short pips!ー

      Player reviews

What I noticed was a really nice feel on the ball. It has a solid, crisp feel, and it's satisfying to hit. The bounce is on the low side, but the short game is easy to do. I'd definitely recommend this to short-pips players.

    • Straight (pen table)

Straight (pen table) (Experience: 11〜20 years) A classic penhold short-pips style racket

      Player reviews

This is basically the go-to blade for penhold short-pips players.
I switched to this from a carbon blade, so at first I thought it barely bounced at all.
↑ That was my impression when I first bought it.

As I mentioned above, the bounce is only slightly more than a normal 5-ply blade.
Because it doesn't bounce much, the short game and blocking are very stable.
The blade's wood is stiff, so it has really good pop off the ball, which makes it a great match for penhold short-pips players who play close-to-the-table quick attack.
Since the blade itself doesn't bounce much, if you're planning on mid-distance rallies you'll want a tension rubber.
If you're the type who stays glued to the table and handles everything close to the table, pretty much any short pips will work.

The downside is that, because there's no bounce, it's hard to put away a single shot from far behind the table.
Even if you get pushed back, I think the idea is to hold your ground at mid-distance and fight from up close.
The initial speed off the blade is fast, so I want to settle things close to the table.
