I'm getting back into table tennis after a 26-year break. I used to play traditional penhold on one side only, but now I'm trying out reverse-side play.
I also tried the Chinese-style grip, but I wanted the hook feel for my index finger, so I'm using a reverse penhold blade.
I normally use the TSP WFS Rotor SR, but since andro released a basic 5-ply reverse penhold blade,
I decided to pick one up. The grip is on the small side, so it should be fine even for people with small hands.
The blade alone weighs 66g measured, and 145g with light rubbers on both sides, so it handles well over the table.
Light shots come off normally, but I felt it hit a bit of a ceiling on hard hits, so if you care about speed, I think it's better paired with
a rubber that has more bounce. On the forehand I have Plaxon 450, which is totally fine, but on the backhand I went with Joola's Zack for control,
and I couldn't get enough distance on backhand drives.
When I swapped forehand and backhand and hit with Plaxon, it felt just right.
I've only used it a little so far, so I'll keep using it alongside the WFS Rotor for a while and review it again.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness Little soft

one (Experience: ４〜５ years) A well-balanced reversible-style penhold

This is a comparison with Nittaku's reversible penhold Sou-MFP. On the Sou-MFP I have short pips (Ligan Spin, max thickness) on the forehand and Morrist SP (thick) on the backhand; on the Timber 5-Off reversible I have Hexer Powergrip 2.1 on the forehand and Hexer Pips 1.9 on the backhand. Right after switching from the Sou-MFP, my impression was that it just didn't fly much. After using it for about a month, my impression changed quite a bit. My forehand topspin drives now get good spin, produce a nice arc, and land consistently on the table. After the ball bounces on the table, the way it curves and bounces gets erratic, so it seems hard for opponents to handle. On the backhand, the rubbers are different in texture, and while the power of my backhand meaty hits dropped a little, it's become easier to put spin on the ball, so I think stability has increased.
Once I got used to it, hard hits with angled shots became stable too, and on hard hits the kick is quite good. I also feel like I can place the ball cross-court or down the line more consistently than when I was using the Sou-MFP. That said, I can't produce a winning shot every single time, so I think this suits players whose style is to work the opponent with placement and changes of power through the rally.

I don't remember the weight of the blade alone, but with medium-thick short pips and extra-thin long pips attached, it comes to around 118 grams, so I'd say it's on the light side.
It's a 5-ply blade with good bounce and high control performance, so I like it.
At one point I switched to a horizontal-grain short pips rubber, and that paired well with it too.

This is a follow-up review.
I also bought a Spin Ace Carbon, and comparing it with the WFS Rotor I already had, I've come to realize this blade actually has the most bounce of the three. I hadn't noticed before because I had different rubbers on each one. It was surprising that this plain 5-ply blade bounces the most, even though the other two use special materials. That said, because of how the plies are built, the sweet spot feels narrower than the other two.
Now that the state of emergency has ended and I'm back to practicing, I'll use it more and review it again.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness Little soft
