Highest possible speed. The M2 is the most recent addition to the Mark V program. It started from the basis of the unbeatable characteristics of the Mark V but aimed to design a weapon with sharp spin and highest possible speed for the top players.

Origin Flicks land well

The ball releases faster than Five, and it grips well on topspin drives and pushes, so it's a great match for a hinoki (Japanese cypress) single-ply blade.

Among the Mark V lineup, this one is fast. I'd recommend it for people who aren't confident in their control.

Kaolin Bouncy, but...

When I hit with it expecting it to feel like Mark V, I did think it was quite bouncy, but compared to the spin-oriented tension rubbers that are dominant right now, the bounce is noticeably inferior. High-tension rubbers are stable, but the stability doesn't come from the arc the way it usually does, so honestly it felt unique and took time to get used to. If you're used to spin-oriented tension rubbers, it's important to practice patiently until you adjust!

It's true that it's bouncier than Mark V and feels somewhat like a tension rubber, but it's still far from the real thing. I think the only real uses for it are as a rubber for beginners to build their fundamentals, or just to try out for a taste of the old glue era (apparently you can even substitute salad oil if you don't have glue lol). It's a problem if beginners/early intermediates jump straight into a rubber that's too bouncy before they've built their basics, but for intermediate and advanced players, this rubber just can't keep up with them lol.

I used to think it was fast, but now that other rubbers have gotten better too, this one feels more like a control-oriented rubber by comparison.
