True to the tagline "a revolution in tacky rubber," this is a pretty distinctive rubber even among tacky tension rubbers.
The arc on your topspin drives is unusually high — it shoots up and drops right down onto the end line, so once you get a feel for that arc, you can gain real consistency. That said, depending on the blade, this arc can become uncontrollable.Thanks to the tacky sheet, the advantages are as follows.
- Serves and pushes have great bite
- Stops over the table hold their placeThe downsides are as follows.
- Blocks tend to go long
- Not all that fast
- Drives are light, so they're easy to block or counterEven though there's plenty of spin, drives somehow feel underpowered. I also tried it on my backhand, but the high arc made blocking difficult, so I gave up on that.
So far it's paired well with an ALC blade or a 7-ply wood blade.
I'd recommend this for the forehand of an intermediate, rally-oriented player who tried tacky rubber, gave up on it, and is currently using tension rubber.Overall Speed Spin Control Hardness Little hard

Overall it feels a lot like the MX-P. It's similarly hard, with a firm feel on contact, holds the ball well, and generates strong spin. That said, the MX-P has more bounce, so I'd call the MX-P the version that's specialized for close-to-the-table play. This one is especially easy to counter with, and if you play anywhere closer than mid-distance, the EL-S has the edge over the MX-P.
To make up for the lack of bounce, I'd recommend pairing it with a blade that has a special material core, or a 7-ply all-wood blade, and using it on the forehand.Overall Speed Spin Control Hardness Little hard

For a short pips rubber, it puts on a good amount of spin - with this rubber you can even score points off backspin serves. That said, you obviously can't put heavy spin on it, so strong loop drives aren't possible. Since it has the short pips trait of being less affected by the opponent's spin, it's really handy on receive. Thanks to its good control, it's a short pips rubber worth considering for either the forehand or backhand.

Looking for more bounce than my WFS Rotor, I bought this carbon blade to try. It definitely has good bounce, but I never got used to the feel of the carbon, so I didn't end up sticking with it.

Compared to Tenergy 05, the spin is a little weaker, but the 80 wins on speed and control.
I used the 05 on my forehand and the 80 on my backhand, and it's tough getting your skills to keep up with the equipment.
This rubber let me hit powerful, automatic-feeling topspin drives and basically live out a dream, but it made me want to find a rubber that actually matches my own skill level. For someone around intermediate level, table tennis with this rubber moves too fast, so I've set out on a journey to find alternatives besides Tenergy.Overall Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft
