I play forehand short pips (Spectrum S1), close-to-the-table quick attack, leaning toward a blocker style. On the backhand, I have an extra-thin rubber on a Gouriki blade.
Since I'm a blocker, I just need to use the opponent's own power to send the ball back - I don't really need to hit fast balls myself. What matters more is the "stopping" technique in blocking and the short game, and that's exactly where I want my equipment to help me out.
Given that, this rubber is perfect, since it's a classic-style inverted rubber with low bounce, and it even comes in an extra-thin option.
I can counter and pick off opponents who swing big drives from mid-distance.On top of that, when I attack myself, hitting flat on the backhand with extra-thin inverted rubber on the very hard Gouriki blade means the impact reaches the wood and changes the coefficient of restitution, producing a really nasty ball that's somewhere between a slider and a knuckle ball. Almost nobody can read it the first time they see it.
The point is, instead of obsessing over specs, you should just choose equipment that fits your own style of play.

The way the ball comes off feels similar to Hurricane.
(Might be my eye strain talking lol) I think it's good to use max thickness in summer and just stick with Hurricane in winter! But you don't get much power out of it.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft

Back in the celluloid ball era this was the go-to rubber for beginners,
but with the specs left unchanged, it's a product that's been completely left behind by the times. If you're a beginner about to buy a blade and rubber,
I'd recommend something like Sriver, Jamin, or Mark V instead. All Speed Spin Control Hardness Soft

A super cheap rubber with hopelessly poor bounce. Is there another rubber this cheap? No, there isn't. Is there another inverted rubber with bounce this hopeless? No, there isn't lol. It's a sheet overflowing with originality!
