  SHIN (Experience: ４〜５ years) The complete form of a balanced short pips rubber

  

  The sponge hardness is listed as 40 degrees, but maybe because the topsheet or the pips themselves are hard, the feel on contact seemed harder than the stated hardness.

  It's a short pips rubber, but the grip is excellent and it puts plenty of spin on the ball, so even being short pips, you can attack with spin-heavy topspin drives too.
  Flat, flick-style hits that take advantage of the tension bounce and hardness also produce plenty of power with no problem.
  It doesn't automatically turn shots into knuckle balls, but they're fairly easy to produce too, so combined with the spin performance above, you can create real variation in spin using just one rubber.

  The bounce is good, so the short game takes some getting used to before you can control it, but since it's on the harder side, the ball didn't seem to float much.

  I think this is a well-balanced rubber that could be called a finished form of the modern short pips - it has spin performance, produces knuckle balls easily, and still gets speed. Being a tension rubber it seems to wear out fairly fast, but given the high performance, the price of around 5,000 yen is cheap, so it also has pretty good value for money.

  Overall, I think its performance is similar to VICTAS's VO>102.

  スポンジ硬度は40度とありますが、シートあるいは粒が硬いのか実際の硬度よりは打球感は硬いように感じました。

  表ソフトではありますが非常に引っかかりがよく回転もよくかかるので、表ソフトでありながら回転のかかったドライブで攻めていく事もできます。
  テンションによる弾みと硬さを生かしたミートの様な弾き系打法も問題なく威力が出ます。
  勝手にナックルになる訳ではありませんがナックルボールもある程度出しやすいので、前述の回転性能と合わせて一枚で回転に差をつけたプレーも可能です。

  弾みが良いので台上は慣れるまでコントロールが難しいですが、硬めなので球は浮きにくい様に感じました。

  回転性能がありながらナックルも出やすく、それでいてスピードもでるという現在の表ソフトの完成形ともいえる様なバランスのとれたラバーだと思います。
  テンション故に劣化スピードは速いように思いますが、高性能でありながら価格も5000円程度と安いので比較的コストパフォーマンスにも優れています。

  全体的な性能としてはVICTASのVO＞102に似ていると思います。

  Nyaha (Experience: ４〜５ years) Strong if you can master it

  

  I put the horizontal-grain version on the backhand of my shakehand blade.
  Both meeting the ball flat and driving are easy, and a solidly hit ball has enough power to win the point outright.
  Short-game technique is also quite good — you can put spin on the ball and it stops well. What I thought was best was the blocking. You can do the kind of extending block typical of horizontal-grain pips, but also the knuckle-stopping block typical of vertical-grain pips, so I think opponents find it hard to deal with. That said, control was a bit tricky, so it lacks some consistency.
  By the way, among horizontal-grain rubbers, this one feels closer to a vertical-grain rubber.

  シェークのバックに横目を貼りました。
  ミートもドライブも打ちやすく、しっかり打ったボールは一撃で決まるほどの威力はあります。
  台上技術も回転はかかるし、よく止まるのでかなりいいです。私が1番いいと思ったのは、ブロックです。横目らしい伸ばすブロックもできるし、縦目のようなナックルの止めるブロックもできるので、相手はやりずらいと思います。ただ、コントロールが少々難しかったので、安定感は欠けます。
  ちなみに、横目の中では縦目寄りのラバーの印象です。

  Shumaro (Experience: ４〜５ years) Perfect for short-pips backhand if you like it firm,

  

  I'm using the vertical-grain version. Even so, it's easy to put spin on backhand topspin drives, which helps when I'm jammed up.
  As long as you don't get the angle wrong, blocks glide deep into the opponent's court. Counters and smashes also generate good speed without needing much force. That said, it can be a bit wild at times, so it probably takes some getting used to.

  縦目で使用しています。それにもかかわらず、バックドライブがかけやすくて詰まったときに助かっています。
  ブロックは角度さえ間違えなければ、相手コートの奥へ滑るように入っていきます。カウンターやスマッシュも、そんなに力を入れなくてもスピードが出ます。しかし少々暴れたりするので、慣れが必要かと思われます。

  Yakitori-kun (Experience: １１〜２０ years) A friend to aggressive penhold short-pips players

  

  I've been using Hexer Pips Force as my penhold short pips rubber for 5 years now.
  I've tried various other rubbers, but I always end up coming back to this one.

  This rubber's biggest feature is the hardness of the sponge and its strong resilience. You can confidently hit hard smashes and counters with your own power.
  It also uses the same sheet as the standard (non-tension) balanced-type Hexer Pips, so it doesn't slip much and produces a moderate knuckle effect. Plus it doesn't fly on its own, which I think makes it well suited for penhold short pips.

  There are three downsides.
  First, since the sponge is hard, it's difficult to put spin on topspin drives. If you can't get a clean hit against backspin, the ball tends to fly flat with almost no spin. People who play fast-attacking drives may find it hard to use.
  Also, it doesn't produce knuckle effects on its own — you have to create the knuckle effect yourself.
  Finally, this rubber isn't worth using if you don't have a reasonably solid hit. If you're not particular about sponge hardness, there are plenty of good balanced-type short pips rubbers out there.

  If you prioritize the short game, and play a style based on lifting shots, meeting the ball flat, rallying, blocking, and countering, it's worth considering.

  Counters especially — just swing and it goes in.

  ペン表としてヘキサーピップスフォース5年間愛用中。
  いろいろ他のラバーを試しても、結果的に戻ってきてしまいます。

  このラバー最大の特徴はスポンジの硬さとコシの強さです。自分の力で強打、カウンターを安心して打てます。
  またバランス型テンション表の無印ヘキサーピップスのシートを使っているので、基本的に滑りにくく適度なナックルを出せます。かつ勝手に飛ぶわけではないのでペン表向きと思います。

  難点は3つ。
  1つは、スポンジが硬いので、ドライブの回転がかけづらい。対下回転ドライブでインパクト出せなかったときはかなり棒球になります。ドライブ速攻の人は使いづらいでしょう。
  また勝手にナックルにはならないので、自らナックルにしないとナックルになりません。
  最後にそこそこのインパクトを持ってないと意味がないラバーです。スポンジ硬度にこだわらなければ、バランス型表ソフトでいいラバーはたくさんありますので。

  台上を重視し、乗せ打ち、ミート、ラリー、ブロック、カウンター勝負の人は一考の価値ありです。

  特にカウンターは振れば入りますよ。

  Yu (Experience: ６〜１０ years) A pretty good short pips rubber

  

  I've used Spectol, Blowfish, Hexer Pips and others before, but this is probably the best rubber I've tried. It's easy to do all kinds of techniques like blocks, topspin drives, half-volleys, and chiquitas. That said, I think it's tough for beginners who are new to short pips, so I'd recommend it to intermediate players and above.

  今までスペクトル、ブローフィッシュ、ヘキーサーピップス等を使ってきたのですが、多分最高の一枚だと思います。ブロック、ドライブ、ハーフボレー、チキータ等各種技術がしやすいです。しかし、まだ表初心者の方は使うのは厳しいと思うので、中級者以上の方にお勧めしたいと思います。

  Triangular goddess gods (Experience: ２〜３ years) Good, except for control

  

  I use this on the backhand, mounted with the grain sideways. With light hits the ball goes in consistently, hitting flat is easy, and there's speed too. Topspin drives get solid spin, and you can produce knuckle balls too, though they're not as good as something like Morristo. However, control is a bit difficult, so I felt this is better suited to intermediate-to-advanced players.

  バック面に横目で使ってます。軽打では安定してボールが入り、ミート打ちもやりやすくスピードもあります。ドライブもしっかり回転がかかり、ナックルもモリストなどと比べると劣りますが出せます。しかしコントロールはしずらいので中～上級者向けだと感じました。

  Okay. (Experience: ４〜５ years) Can't get used to it

  

  I started playing table tennis again after 30 years.
  30 years ago there weren't many short pips rubbers around, and I think I used the PF4-652, but this time I used a so-called tension rubber from a brand I'd never heard of called andro, and man, does it bounce!
  I used to play a close-to-the-table attacking style, but ever since I put this rubber on, my smashes just won't go in at all. The ball leaves the rubber fast and doesn't grip, so my topspin drives don't lift either, and I've been struggling with what to do.
  As for the smashes I said won't go in — when they do land in the opponent's court, the ball is so fast the opponent can't move at all.
  Blocks are fast too, of course.
  But overall, I really think this is a difficult rubber.

  30年ぶりに卓球を始めました。
  30年前はまだ表ラバーが少なく、PF4-652だったかな？を使ってましたが、今回アンドロと言う聞きなれないメーカーのテンションと言われるラバーを使ってましたが、とにかく跳ねる！
  前陣速攻をしていたのですが、このラバーを貼ってからは、全くスマッシュが入りません。球離れも早く引っかからないしでドライブも持ち上がらず、どうしたものかと悩んでます。
  先程入らないと言ったスマッシュですが、ハマって相手コートに入ると、相手が全く動けないくらい速い球が打てます。
  もちろんブロックも速いです。
  が、とにかく難しいラバーだなと思いましたね。
