The TSP Grandy is a very well-balanced allround rubber for talented newbie players. Strengths of this modern rubber include excellent control and a tacky top rubber sheet for easy learning of all spin variants. In addition, the TSP Grandy produces sufficient speed for attacking.

    ■ Representative Voices
▲ PositivePerfect rubber for beginners—very affordable with solid performance. Outstanding control and good spin generation make it ideal for learning basic techniques.

Zhuo OTA (Experience: 2〜3 years) Plenty good for a beginner

      Reviews by user

I used this for the first six months after I started table tennis.
I bought it as part of a beginner set and put it on both sides of a blade called Stash.
I think it's a rubber that suits beginners well.

Pacific cod (Experience: 2〜3 years) A rubber just for beginners

      Reviews by user

In a word, this rubber is meh... (though that depends on the person).
It really feels like a beginner-only rubber lol.
The control is good, but everything else is kind of mediocre... People always say things like "use it to learn the feel of putting spin on the ball," right? If that's the goal, Mark V is way better. Why? Because with Mark V, if you brush the ball, you actually get decent spin. But with this rubber, even if you brush it, you don't get much spin, and you can end up getting smashed. When that happens, a beginner is bound to think, "I put spin on it and I still got smashed anyway!!"... and end up not even understanding what spin is supposed to feel like.
