A coach I know was using this, so I borrowed it and gave it a try. Chops bite in well, but if you don't change things up on the backhand by around the fifth ball, they tend to go long quite a bit. Knuckle chops were easy to produce even with a hard sponge. The issue is with topspin drives... they grip like crazy. And since it's a tacky tension rubber, it still had decent speed. Hitting from close to the table was pretty tough. But from mid-to-far from the table, the ball went in smoothly. Serve and receive were no problem, so overall I'd say this is for advanced players.

I'm using Hurricane NEO2 on both sides.
I think using tension rubber normally is probably the smarter choice, but personally I enjoy using tacky rubber to control the short game while getting more power out of hard hits than my swing alone would suggest.
With tacky rubber, I find that for non-spin techniques like smashes, hitting flat and parallel to the table works well, and for drives, opening the racket angle and brushing the ball tends to land more consistently.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness Little hard

I currently use it as a dedicated attacking blade. It's built from the ground up to make spin easy to generate, with carbon adding the speed. Since the top ply is on the softer side and the carbon adds a bit of extra speed, it pairs well with harder, strongly tacky rubbers — with the Nittaku Hurricane Pro 3 TBO, drives get insane spin along with speed that's up around high-throw level. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to make the most of a tacky rubber's spin. (TBO = Turbo Orange)

Even among TSP's beginner-recommended blades, this one stands out for its amazing control. It keeps the bounce a bit restrained, but spin is easy to put on. Compared to the company's own Levante, this one is better suited to chopping, fast attacks, and short-pips-at-the-table styles. For a topspin-drive-based style, I'd recommend the Levante.

This blade has everything a beginner or intermediate player needs to hit and spin the ball with their own power — it's easy to handle, easy to put spin on, and transmits your power well. On top of that the overall balance is really good, and at a list price of 4500 yen it's close to the budget range. That's why you can use this blade cheaply for a long time — you can even afford to put a slightly nicer rubber on it. Its biggest selling point is that, even though pips and anti rubbers take a bit of getting used to, it has this incredible ability to match well with any rubber. As a result, it seems like there are schools where almost everyone uses this blade, except for choppers. That said, if you've used a lot of different blades, I think you might feel it's a bit lacking. In that case, it helps to raise your swing speed or find a rubber that works well together with it. I've gotten past that by increasing my swing speed.
