I sometimes see people using this with penhold pips, and it's easy to use for chopping too. Chops and pushes are a given, but even a snap block close to the table goes in as long as you make contact.
The raw amount of variation isn't as high as with tension pips, but it's easy to add your own variation to the ball. You can also attack with it if you get the angle right, so I think it's worth trying at least once.Overall Speed Spin Control Hardness Little soft

Compared to the Yan An 2, this one is easier to handle. I think it's a standard racket for the modern 40mm plastic ball. If you're a middle schooler without much power, softer rubber is better, but once you're a high schooler or older and can really swing, any rubber works fine.

These days, with speed glue, boosters, and other additives banned, this is a tough rubber for attacking players to use. Aside from defensive choppers who want to cut pushes and chops without worrying about overshooting, or penhold pips players who only use inverted rubber for serving, there might not be much demand for it. I do think it's easier to handle than Hurricane, though.

I use the thin version on my backhand. The variation in chop spin isn't that wide, so opponents might not find it particularly nasty, but it lets you hang in there and grind out points. Pushes felt easy to vary between heavy and no-spin. Even though it's a variation-type rubber, it's still short pips, so knuckle blocks and attacking shots are possible too. Best of all, it's cheap, so if you make a lot of mistakes, I think it's worth trying.

It's a fairly typical German spin-oriented tension rubber. I think it's amazing that you get this level of performance at this price. I'm not sure if advanced players would be satisfied with the amount of spin and speed, but the control is good and it's more than usable in matches.
If you're forcing yourself to buy an expensive high-end rubber, I think you'd be more satisfied buying this one instead.Overall Speed Spin Control Hardness Little hard
