    User review

I was using the Zhang Jike ALC, but
I'd had my eye on the Viscaria for a while, so I set it up with the same rubbers as my Zhang Jike ALC, Dignics 09C and 05.
The first thing I noticed was that the balance point seems a little more toward the blade?
It felt heavier, but once I actually hit with it, it didn't bother me.

The way it feels in the hand was clearly different.
Looking closely, I think it's the shape of the flare?
With the Zhang Jike ALC I can grip firmly toward the blade,
but with the Viscaria my hand ends up a little more toward the handle. The flare shape and curve are only slightly different, but it does shift where your hand naturally sits.

    On forehand and backhand,
with the 05 the ball feels like it really flies,
while with the 09C, when I drive, the ball stays a bit more contained than with the 05.

    That's the impression I got.

Personally, I preferred the grip balance of the Zhang Jike ALC.

Next time I want to try putting the same rubbers on a Hanshinto ALC.

I'm looking forward to seeing how much the grip changes things.

    User review

I used to use the Harimoto ALC
but I didn't really like the feel and kept wandering between blades.
After that I used the Ovtcharov ALC, but it flew too much somehow, and the head-heavy balance made it hard to swing...
While I was going through that indecision, I bought the Zhang Jike ALC.
Since the last one flew too much, I test-ran it with Xiang Long max thickness on the forehand and Rozena on the backhand.

It grips the ball but it still flies! Super easy to use!
The backhand is especially easy when putting spin on the ball. The control is really good too!
The only difference from the Viscaria is the grip, but personally I found this one easier to swing and switch directions with more smoothly.

I wondered if Tenergy would've been good on the backhand too, but this was just a test run, so next time I'm thinking forehand 09C, backhand Tenergy or Dignics 05.
It seems like a blade that would suit both harder and softer rubbers.
    The best.

  • OVTCHAROV Innerforce ALC

    User review

"Ovtcharov! It's out!" — so I bought it right away.

My first impression was that it really flies!! There's not much feedback when you hit the ball, and it felt hard to control.

I felt like my usual Zhang Jike ALC was easier to control. That's probably just personal preference though...
As for the grip, since the blade is thick it felt a bit off at first. I guess that's something you get used to.
The fit around the flared part of the handle also didn't feel as snug in my hand compared to the Zhang Jike ALC.

The weight balance is also fairly tip-heavy, so it feels heavy.
This one really comes down to personal taste when buying.

Some of this might be down to my own technique, but personally I felt like stiffer rubbers, such as the Dignics series or Hurricane, would suit it well.

If you're the type who likes to put spin on the ball and send it flying, I think this blade is a perfect fit for you.
