A junior teammate of mine uses this one, so I borrowed it to try. The Timo Boll series has a hard blade, so once you put a soft ZLC layer in, it ends up feeling like a blade where you can't quite tell if it's hard or soft. On light hits it feels hard and the ball feels light, but on drives it felt like the ball really sank into it. The short game felt like it bounced easily. The ALC version has the edge there. That said, I don't feel the ball is any lighter than the Timo Boll ALC, and I think it's a good blade! What surprised me though is that even with Hurricane rubber on it, the trajectory is flat. Hurricane normally draws a nice arc thanks to how the spin bites, but that's missing here, so I wonder if there's really any point going out of your way to put Hurricane on it. The feel is soft and it's easy to get spin on the ball, so I think it's an easy blade to recommend. That's assuming you don't factor in the price though···

Using this blade for the first time is excellent. It's really great. I've tried the Viscaria before, but in my opinion it was still lacking in speed and fire, so I don't like the knife.

The blade is a bit on the hard side, so if you pair it with a hard rubber, it becomes an absolute powerhouse!
On the other hand, if you pair it with a soft rubber, it gets more stable, giving you a great balance between offense and defense!!Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness little hard

Even before I switched to my current Rasanter R48, back when I had Super Ventus on both sides, the feel was great and I felt like this blade suited me!
I also own a Viscaria and a Kenta Matsudaira ALC, but this one's thinner and easier to get spin on than either of those two!
I think it strikes a great balance between speed and spin, so even though it's a bit pricey, give it a try!Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness little hard

Compared to other blades, this one's kind of understated within the Timo Boll lineup, and understated among Butterfly's outer ZLC series too, but it's actually really good.
I see quite a few people using it in student leagues.
Thanks to the board thickness, it's easy to get spin on, and it has good pop too.
Recommended for topspin drive players with inverted rubber on both sides.
I wouldn't recommend it for beginners, but it's a great pick for around your third blade.

This blade flies pretty well even with just a light swing. Because of that, if you don't get the angle right, you'll overshoot. When returning an opponent's drive, I felt like you could almost swing horizontally, lol, that's how much it flies.
Forehand drives come out really sharp. You can control the arc yourself too - swing straight through and you get a low, sharp ball, and if you loop it a bit more you get a shot with a higher arc.
On the backhand, flat hits have a lot of power. And when lifting backspin with a drive, as long as your swing form is right, even a slightly light swing produces a ball with plenty of pace.
It's a bit pricey, but it's a really great blade, so I recommend it!!Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness hard

This feels like the kind of super-bouncy blade you'd have used back in the old Chuck days. I use short pips on the backhand, and it's easy to hit crisp shots with. It's light so it's pretty easy to swing too.
