It was easy to use. Backspin drives lift up nicely, but counter-type shots often go long. Also, since it's an inner blade, it doesn't have that one-shot power, so I think it's good for a rally-based style. If you feel the Xiaoyan flies too much, I think this one is a good alternative. The grip was too thick for me, so I sanded it down quite a bit. I think it's good for people looking for stability. Next I'm planning to try the Hurricane 8-80.

I switched over from the Arc Bolt. At first I was surprised by the weight and the thickness of the grip, but the bounce is good, and I didn't lose out much even in rallies from mid-distance. It also lifts backspin balls well, and personally there wasn't much I disliked about it.

I use tension rubber myself, but this can easily handle rubbers up to slightly tacky.
It holds the ball well, so I'm plenty satisfied with the amount of spin I can generate, but people used to outer blades might find the speed and low trajectory a bit lacking. Also, stopping the ball over the table works fine, but with flicks and chiquitas, it might feel like it holds the ball a little too long.

A flexible blade with great ball-holding and good balance. Topspin drives against both backspin and topspin come up nicely and have good power. Counters came up higher than I expected and I overshot a few. Also, on smashes and flicks the ball released at just the right timing, letting me hit fast, stable shots. If a push sits up even a little, you can smash it.

I test-hit the FL 87g.

In terms of category, it's a flexible-type inner carbon blade with a large head.
It's built with the Harimoto ALC clearly in mind, but the biggest difference is that it's thinner.
Being 0.3mm thinner gives it even more flex than the Harimoto. The ease of putting spin on the ball and the distance it flies both feel slightly better with this one.
The issue is probably that the flex combined with centrifugal force makes it a bit harder to control. I got the impression that counter-hits tend to overshoot often.

Otherwise, the grip shape is almost the same as the Harimoto, so if you were to choose this one over that on purpose, it'd probably be for the flex and the feel on contact.
It has a fairly hard, piercing, highly metallic feel on contact, so I'd say it's worth trying out for yourself.

This blade suits my preferences so well that it's almost hard to express in numbers.
I wanted to try being a chopper, so I bought a Matsushita ZC, and I liked the feel on hard hits and drives with it. So I went looking for an offensive blade with a similar thickness but a bit bigger, and ended up with the Souten. There's a lot of vibration in the hand, but it still gives that solid "thwack" kind of pop, and it puts a good amount of spin on the ball, which gives it a stable feeling — I was able to hit powerful shots that combined spin and speed. My backhand, which used to be unstable and something I struggled with, also started clicking, so I feel like I'm getting stronger.

That said, a Viscaria + Hurricane user I know who's from China said "it vibrates too much, and because of the rubber, drives from further back don't come up," so it probably won't suit people who prefer a quieter blade. For me, stepping up from a Korbel, the vibration actually felt lighter, and it became much easier to hit with. Compared to a friend's Tomokazu Harimoto ALC, the Souten feels like it pops out with a bit more of a "thwack," but overall it felt like a pretty similar blade.
