God A nemesis for choppers using tacky rubber
-
2016/05/08
First off, I have to say
I absolutely do not recommend this for tacky-rubber choppers.
It has so little bounce that you end up beating yourself.
And when you attack, the ball goes into the net about as often as you'd expect.
It's only really usable for serve and receive.
If you're thinking about using this blade,
I'd also recommend pairing it with Vega Asia DF or Vega Europe DF at max thickness.
Long pips are pretty much a no-go with this one, in my opinion.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness Soft

I don't really know all that much, but personally I think it's just plain good.
It's built so it doesn't fly too much, so if you've had trouble with shots going long on other chopping blades, I think it's worth trying at least once. I'd also recommend it to players with a close-to-the-table all-round style,
beginner choppers, and women players.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness Little soft

With Tenergy 05 and V>15 Extra on it... it's a decent match, I'd say.
Attack: Even on hard shots, it's easy to control, but if you don't consciously grip the ball firmly and drive through, the shot lacks power and comes out slow.
Forehand chop (against a hard shot): It doesn't tend to go long, and it's easy to control. That said, it might not cut the ball much.
Forehand chop (against a weak shot): If you consciously try to add cut, you have to be careful with control, and it's actually harder to cut than when returning a hard shot. With Hurricane Pro 3 Turbo Orange on it... I think it's a good match if you're purely chopping.
Attack: Maybe my skill isn't there yet, but it clearly lacks speed and doesn't suit attacking at all.
Forehand chop (against a hard shot): The rebound is well contained, so it's easy to control, and maybe because of the rubber, it cuts reasonably well too.
Forehand chop (against a weak shot): It feels like the ball doesn't fly much, so you have to be careful with control, but it cuts just as well as when returning a hard shot.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness Little soft

affinity (Experience: 6〜10 years) A blade focused on defense

I used this for about 4 years through high school and university.
Rubber compatibility is a matter of personal taste so I won't go too deep into it, but thin rubbers don't seem to suit it well. Also, the feel is soft, with the vibration coming through to your hand in a way that makes it easy to control, but you can feel the hardness(?) of the wood underneath. As a blade it barely bounces at all. It's also light, so if you don't swing all the way through, the ball comes out weak.
The strong points of this blade are its stability and control on chops.
As long as you don't let your push float, it cuts well and produces good shots. I think it's a fantastic blade for practicing footwork and varying the amount of spin.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness little hard

colorful (Experience: 6〜10 years) Pair it with a tension rubber to make up for it

I used this from my second year of middle school through my second year of high school, back when I chose blades based on control.
During middle school I was happy using VS401 on my forehand and P4 on my backhand, but once I got to high school I switched to Tenergy 64 to boost my attacking power.
People say it doesn't pair well with long pips, but personally I found it easy to generate variation even with small swings, and reverse-side chopping worked well for me too, so I thought it was good.
The blade itself doesn't bounce much, so it's easy to control, and I like the feel, so overall I rate it well.
Putting a tension rubber on it felt just right.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness Soft

You'll need practice to chop loop drives with this, but if you're someone whose hand tenses up when a hard shot comes in, I think you'll find it very easy to use.

Weak small man I don't think it suits long pips

This is my review after using it for 2 years.
"If you just hit it, it goes in" turned out to be true!
It's also easy to control, so personally I think it's a great blade.
That said, I found chopping against long pips rubber a bit hard to do with this.
I've tried a bunch of different rubbers on it, but strong tacky rubbers don't bounce well, so I wouldn't recommend those!
If you're putting rubber on it, I'd recommend something like a tension rubber.
There are a few things I'm not fully satisfied with about this blade, but I don't regret buying it.
Even if it breaks and I have to replace it, I think I'd buy this same blade again.
It's worth trying at least once.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness Little soft
