A wonderful blade
The balance between chopping and attacking really lives up to the Matsushita Koji nameThat said,
comparing it to the Matsushita Pro Model that Butterfly used to make, I feel it falls a bit short.
This blade is easier to attack with, but it doesn't give you that feeling that every chopped ball is going to land.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness Little soft

As a chopper, I think this blade is more than satisfying. A lot of choppers worry that their blade doesn't bounce enough when attacking, but I never really had that concern with this one. At first glance it looks like it won't bounce much, but depending on your rubber choice you can get decent bounce - not as much as an attacking blade, but still there. So I'd recommend it if you want a bit more bounce when attacking. If you want to go all-out on offense, the Offensive version is probably better. The Normal version is good for a chopper type who wants stability plus attack.

I tried the Matsushita Koji blade with Tenergy 05 and Vertical 20.
- Topspin drive: Maybe because of the Tenergy, the ball sinks into the sponge nicely, comes off fast, and gets plenty of spin with good stability.
But on loop drives I felt a bit of slipping (sob).
- Push: Very easy to do. No complaints on sharpness or consistency.
- Forehand chop: Rock solid overall. You can cut it as much as you want, and it's easy to hold shots down too.
- Backhand chop: With the Offensive and the Inner Shield Layer I sometimes got chops that flew too straight or didn't travel far enough, but with this blade that doesn't happen - it gives really well-balanced, stable chops.
- Chopping technique: Like I said, for loops if you hit in a spot that's not too much of a graze and not too flat, you get good spin. And when you want to put it away with a speed drive, no complaints at all.
- Counter: Because it's soft, the ball tends to sit on the racket a little on counters, so watch out for that.
- Serve: I felt it was a bit harder to put heavy spin on serves. Maybe because I was used to the Inner Shield, which made spinny serves easier... but I think serves will be fine with practice!

This is a classic, orthodox blade for choppers. It's a blade you can buy as your first one and keep using for a long time. If you feel it doesn't have enough bounce, you can just switch to a bouncier rubber.

I switched from the Inner Shield Layer! As a chopper, I really feel that a plain plywood blade is easier to handle than one with a special material inside, and it's been fantastic - speed and spin are both great!

The feel really jars your hand, so I think people will either love it or hate it, but overall it's a pretty solid, stable blade. The feel is on the hard side, but chops are easy to control and you can hold back hard shots well. Personally, though, I found topspin drives a bit hard to do. On the other hand, smashing a ball that's popped up is easy. So I think this blade suits players who attack mainly with smashes and flat hits rather than topspin drives. I personally find harder rubbers easier to chop with, but for this blade a slightly softer rubber feels like it works better.

Since it's a blade made for choppers, it has just the right amount of bounce. On topspin drives it grabs the ball and releases it well, so the ball carries nicely. It's also a great fit for close-to-the-table pips-out play, bringing out just the right amount of control and variation with long pips!
