I bought an Alba 23 from Darker Online.
Before this I was using a Timo Boll ALC, but since I was working on picking up the chiquita and backhand drive, and because I played with a single-ply penhold blade all through high school and could never forget that hinoki feel, I looked around online and came across this blade.
The feel is almost on par with a single-ply hinoki blade, and thanks to the 23 treatment, the bounce is only slightly less than the Timo Boll.
But just as advertised, the bounce is kept in check for things like stops and chiquitas over the table, giving it a stable feel. Also, compared to the ALC, I could feel the ball staying on the blade longer, and my backhand drive became more stable too.

I tried the Alba 23.
Before this I was using Darker's Liberta Synergy, but it bounced too much, so I switched to the 7-ply Alba.First, the feel.
It has this enveloping softness combined with a solid vibration in the hand - the best feeling I've experienced, and I fell in love with it on day one.
The bounce is also excellent thanks to the 23 treatment, and above all, the ease of generating spin and the control that's unique to wood blades are, I'd say, top-tier.The power might not be quite enough for advanced players, but for beginner-to-intermediate players, it has more than enough power along with fantastic handling. Definitely worth picking up.

This is an amazing blade! I got an Alba with 23 treatment from a certain shop, and it's top-notch! The ball comes off ridiculously heavy and fast! Since it's hinoki, the sound is refined, and blocks just stop dead! Topspin rallies are basically unbeatable! It's really comfortable even hitting from further back. Because of its nature it's a heavy blade so you need some arm strength, but it's truly in a league of its own!
If there were a Chinese-penhold version, it would feel like a fully-loaded weapon of a blade! I think as a 7-ply it's on a completely different level compared to things like the Yoshida ○I or the popular limited-edition Fo○tius Chinese-penhold! And the thing is, even though it's a laminated blade, the plywood itself is thick! With this much thickness, you can swing with total confidence. For hardcore loop drivers, this is definitely an awakening-level blade.

I ordered a custom Alba 23. There's really no other blade with a feel and flex this amazing. It genuinely feels ridiculous buying some overpriced, sketchy blade from a certain other maker. It's such an amazing blade that once you get used to this feel, you can't go back to anything else.
The 23-treated Alba in particular is seriously just amazing, no other word for it. Unfortunately words can't really convey it. You'd only get it if you've used one yourself.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness little hard

Shakehand Forehand Pips (Experience: １１〜２０ years) Even beginners can feel the great touch

It's been a year and a half since I bought this. I got it before the price increase.
At 86g, I'd say it's on the light side for a 7-ply. Compared to other blades, the grip goes a bit deeper into the blade area, so the total surface area for the rubber is slightly smaller. Compared to something like a STIGA, the rubber comes out about 2g lighter per side at max thickness. It's good for people who want max thickness on both sides but still want to keep the total weight down.
The feel is excellent. When you hit hard, you can feel a solid "core" to it. The bounce is definitely weaker compared to special-material blades, but it strikes a nice balance between a sense of security and speed.
I had a lower-level woman player (not a total beginner - someone who already uses carbon blades) try hitting with the Timo Boll ALC, the plain Acoustic, the SWAT, and the Alba, and asked which felt best to hit with. The order was Alba, plain Acoustic, Timo Boll ALC, then SWAT. She said the vibration in the hand felt the most pleasant with the Alba.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness little hard

It's similar to a SWAT. Anyone can use it. For the short game too, the flex you only get with wood makes the ball land solidly. Drives come out heavy and hard to handle. It pairs with any rubber - from tacky rubbers to variation rubbers like OX. Definitely worth getting one.
