Precisely because it doesn't have any standout specialty, it's easy to control.
When I switched to another rubber chasing more spin and more speed, I really came to appreciate how important that controllability was.

I've been using this on my backhand for about 4 years now.
Of all the rubbers I've used, I think this is the most all-around one. Blocks are stable, counters land easily, and pushes don't float.

Tacky rubber wasn't working for me, so I was looking for a tension rubber, and went with Vega Asia since it's affordable and has a good reputation for chopping.
It gives a great feeling of really biting into the ball with the whole rubber, not just relying on the sheet.
It also pairs perfectly with my ball-holding Korbel blade — counters land satisfyingly on attack too,
and overall the quality of the drive-related technique is high across the board. (Makes sense, given the equipment.)After trying it out thoroughly, here's why I titled this review the way I did:
- It's not just good for chopping — it's excellent all-around for drive techniques, the short game, and serves too
- You need solid chopping technique to actually get the cut on it (which makes it good practice for developing that skill)Compared to today's high-end rubbers, it also lasts relatively long, which is another point in its favor.

True to its German-made tension rubber roots, this rubber has good speed and generates spin naturally, so a simple swing produces a good shot. It's also easy to use for the short game, making it ideal for learning technique. I'd recommend it to beginners who want to learn how to put spin on the ball. Since it's also on the softer side, I'd recommend it to anyone looking to improve on techniques they're not confident with.

At first I played in a tournament with it and won a prize. After that I started training more with it, but the spin was gone within two months. I kept playing with it as is, which clearly wasn't the right call, but I probably didn't do otherwise — the problem was with me, but it wasn't that,
The speed was fine
At first it spins well, but then it dies

RPG A safe but good rubber

The top sheet is soft and the sponge is a bit hard, so you get a decent ball whether you hit it softly or with a strong impact.
You won't be overwhelming opponents with loop spin or blasting through with sheer power, but beginner-to-intermediate players — who this rubber is aimed at — can't really pull off that kind of play in a match anyway. (Not looking down on anyone — everyone starts out that way.)
Rather than getting pushed around by a high-performance rubber, using one that matches your level lets you play with more confidence in matches, helps you develop your own feel for hitting, and doesn't cost much either — it's all upside.There's nothing in particular that's hard to do with it, and the performance is well-balanced with a slight lean toward speed.
It's easy to put spin on, the ball doesn't go flat even with a slow swing, and the control is passable.
I can easily recommend this as a second tension rubber.
