This is a review using it with vertical pips (tate-me).
My first impression is that it's strong against short pips' number one enemy, humidity. It's great that it doesn't get slippery even in bad weather.[Speed] If you hit with a lot of impact you might feel some loss of power. The characteristic is that it gets speed even on light shots. It used to pair amazingly well with a single-ply blade, so it might suit a softer blade. With a hard blade, the rubber deforms a lot and you probably lose power that way.
[Spin] With vertical pips it's really easy to get spin on the ball. Drive to the opponent's backhand or deep middle, and when they block it — snap, it's a real short-pips setup shot. Very easy to pull off.
[Block, Counter]
Blocks come out as a real knuckleball. Even if you counter with a bit too much force, it still lands on the table rather than flying off, probably because of that power loss I mentioned. Pushing deep, looping, and then countering as a setup shot is also easy to do.Right now I'm using the Vo101 because I want more power on my initiating shots, but I'd really recommend this to anyone who plays off their opponent's blocks or return loop drives.

This is my first time using short pips, so I can't compare it to other short pips rubbers.
But after searching around this series, I gathered that the Pips Force seems to be the popular one.
So I bought it and tried it, and it was too hard for a short pips beginner...
I'd been using Rasanter R53, so I figured I'd be used to some hardness, but
it turns out the R53's topsheet is actually soft...So, within the Pips series, I bought the Plus version instead, which has thinner topsheet pips and a softer feel.
Since horizontal pips seem to be the standard for the forehand, I glued it on horizontally.
It feels really great!
The spin is normal enough that people ask "wait, is this inverted rubber?"
Stops and smashes where you just touch the ball without spin come out as knuckleballs.If my opponent gets fed up with my forehand pips, I can then shake things up with the pips on my backhand and go in for the kill, and the flow of the match is mine! (Well, that's how it would go if everything worked out perfectly...)

Used the 2.1mm on my backhand.
Compared to the other two rubbers in the same series (Hexer Pips and Hexer Pips Force), the pips are thinner, so the ball leaves the rubber faster, and I found countering really easy.
The spin is a bit weaker than spin-oriented short pips like Booster SA, VO102, or Impartial XS, but not enough to really bother me.
My impression was that it sits somewhere between a variation-type and a spin-type short pips rubber.Side note: it's under fairly strong tension, so if you don't glue it on thick enough, the edges tend to curl up and peel off pretty quickly.

I think surprisingly many people use this. That just shows how good the performance of this rubber is. You can confuse your opponent with the range of variation while also fighting it out at a speed-packed pace!

This is a minor rubber, but it has real character and is worth trying.
Variation/knuckle balls and spin performance coexist at a high level.
It seems to be classified as a spin-oriented rubber, but my impression is more of a speed-oriented rubber that also grabs plenty of spin.
It's a bit tricky to use yourself, but it's even harder for your opponent to deal with!
Topspin drives grab well, but meet-shots and blocks produce quite a lot of variation.
It's also handy that you can mount it with the pips running either vertically or horizontally. Mounted horizontally, you can also use it on the forehand or on the reverse side of a Japanese penhold blade.
That said, when you mount it on a Chinese penhold blade, the TENSO/BIOS logo ends up half cut off, which I wish they'd fix somehow.
