Ultra crunch (Experience: More than ２０ years) Chinese rubber that spins well but prioritizes ease of use

I've been trying various Chinese rubbers because I wanted to stabilize my forehand loop drive. I swapped between Hurricane Pro 2 and Pro 3 and did some test hitting with both. Since the Neo only comes in max thickness, I'm using the Pro version since it's available in thick.
My impression: with Pro 2 the drive traces a nice, clean arcing trajectory and the ball tends to fly a bit higher, while Pro 3 sends the drive more forward and is easier to control.
If you're using a Chinese rubber for the first time, I think Pro 3 is easier to handle. It puts on more spin than spin-tension rubbers, and if you pick the right blade, you can also get plenty of power on your hard hits. It seems top players tend to prefer the 3 over the 2.
I guess that's because compared to the 2, the 3 gives you more shot speed and produces trickier, unpredictable balls. I can't move that quickly myself, so I want to slow down the rally pace during play, which is why I use the slower Pro 2. I'd recommend this to beginners who want to move on from high-rebound rubbers to tacky rubber, to intermediate players trying tacky rubber for the first time, and to anyone who wants to master the basic strokes of tacky rubber. It's a typically sticky, tacky rubber with a very hard feel, but it has more speed than Hurricane 3.
Once you get the basic tacky-rubber strokes down, speed drives, loop drives, counters, and blocks close to the table all become stable. Personally, I feel it spins more than the Neo 3. The downside might be that topspin rallies at mid to far distance are difficult (though that may also be due to my own lack of power...).
If you're used to hitting with tension rubber, I'd recommend the Neo 3 or Triple Double Extra instead.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Hard

I used the thick version on my backhand.
Unlike the Hurricane Neo series, this one came in a thick option, so that's why I chose it. The short game, starting with pushes, is easy to execute, which I guess is what you'd expect from a tacky rubber. Backhand drives don't gain much speed, but the spin is nasty enough to give opponents trouble returning it.
That said, if you don't swing all the way through, the ball comes out flat and gets smashed by your opponent. If you can commit to a full swing, it shouldn't be a problem. Just like the title says, this is the rubber to use for connecting shots.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little hard

Both the topsheet and sponge don't let the ball sink in much, so when you hit flat, the ball seems to leave the racket quickly.
Since it does have some tackiness, the ball flies well in the direction of your swing. To get both good spin and distance, you'll need to develop a feel for the right angle and enough impact.
Since it's a non-tension rubber, the speed isn't anything special, but I find the ball consistently lands deep in the opponent's court. For counters, hitting flat causes the ball to drop noticeably, so you need to swing along the tangent of the ball's trajectory to counter it properly.
For serves and the short game, because it's a hard tacky rubber, both keeping the ball low and punching through are easy, but it's also easy to be affected by incoming spin, so it demands good control.
I think this is excellent for players who make heavy use of brushing strokes. It's the type of rubber that wins through changing the quality of the ball rather than sheer power.

I felt the speed was less than I expected. (You can probably tell from the chart above.) It doesn't reach the speed shown in the official numbers - I actually feel the Pro 2 had more speed. But aside from that, the spin on blocks, serves, and drives is outstanding, so I think this is really good for people who tend to overshoot because of too much speed, or for anyone who wants to play using tacky-rubber spin as their weapon.

This is the rubber I have on my forehand. Both the topsheet and sponge are on the hard side and it's strongly tacky, so it doesn't fly much, but if you let the ball sink in and swing quickly, you can unleash shots with tremendous power! It also makes returning a chopper's chops easy! This rubber works well whether you're trying tacky rubber for the first time or you're already an advanced player.

It's a tacky rubber, so flat hits don't bounce much, but topspin drives really carry through with great extension after the bounce. Among the Hurricane-type rubbers it's closest to the Neo 3, and it gets a decent amount of distance. Even coming from a tension rubber, the bounce and arc are easy to produce, so I found it easy to adjust to without much discomfort.
You can really rip your pushes with heavy backspin, and blocks don't pop off the racket if you just meet the ball, so they feel stable. I think you could play strong table tennis with this tacky rubber on both sides. It's not too heavy either, so I'd recommend it as a good starting point for anyone who wants to try tacky rubber.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little hard
