It really stops the ball on blocks, no question. It's a rubber that gives your opponent trouble. You can see why Mima Ito loves using it. It wears the opponent out, so you can gain the advantage in a match. If you're wondering what short pips to use, I can recommend this one.

Blocking is really easy and it puts a decent amount of spin on the ball! Hitting it flat gives fast shots, and pushes were easy to do too!

I borrowed this from a friend who wasn't using it anymore.
It's a short pips rubber, but it puts a decent amount of spin on the ball and is fairly resistant to the opponent's spin, so I think it's quite easy to use as short pips go.
That said, when I had it on my backhand and a heavy backspin ball came in, being a beginner and it being short pips, I sometimes ended up with a half-baked return.
Still, it's easy to handle and a really good rubber.

These are my impressions after letting a friend who uses Chinese penhold try it. It was the thick version, but it was easy to control. The speed was quite fast and the ball went in the direction the blade was facing. That said, if you put in too much power it goes long off the table, so I think you need to adjust your power. Blocking against drives was also very easy.

For short pips, I think it grips the ball well and is easy to use.
When you hit it with a basic swing it puts spin on the ball, and when you smash it, it naturally turns into a knuckle ball. Hitting flat drives gives good speed and is easy to control. Also, reverse chiquita is easy to do. Just angling the racket and making contact gives it sidespin and it curves nicely.

Spin, speed, how easily it flicks the ball off, and how easy it is to produce knuckle balls - everything is well balanced!
Angle shots and topspin drives are both easy to do!
There's really no notable weakness!
If you're torn over which tension short pips to get, you can't go wrong just picking this one!Personally though, I'd like a bit more bounce.
