I tried a lot of different short pips, and Moristo SP is where I finally ended up. For me, the defining trait of Moristo SP is that it can produce both spinny balls and knuckle-type balls off a flat hit. Using a mix of fast and slow balls to keep the opponent off balance, then finishing on the forehand - I think this pattern leads to points pretty easily. I'd also recommend it to anyone who wants to add variation with short pips.

It has a reputation as an easy-to-use short pips rubber that's good for beginners too, but after sticking with it for half a year, my impression is the complete opposite.
My impression is: "hard to master, but a short pips rubber that lets you win once you can use it."The pip shape looks like it should spin the ball, but I think it leans more toward the knuckle type than the spin type. Push it and you get a real dead-knuckle ball. Short game shots become a scoring weapon thanks to their nasty knuckle effect.
It's quite soft, so if you let the ball sink in you can get spin on your drives, but if you brush it, it doesn't take much spin at all. It doesn't slip off carelessly, so the short game and steering shots are no problem - if anything, they're easy.Even a weak impact still gets the ball across to the opponent's court, but countering was a bit tricky since the rubber feels like it collapses on impact. It might suit players who sink the ball in and control it, but it could be tough for players who like to hit the ball flat on impact.
If you like the knuckle performance and the softness, it could be a good partner for you. The knuckle short game shots were appealing, but I ended up giving it up because of trouble with forehand hard hits and counters.

Moristo SP is, true to being
called a tension rubber,
genuinely a short pips rubber that lets you put spin on the ball
and being able to add spin is a real blessing
it creates chance balls
and lets you finish points too.
When you block, it gives you
the knuckle balls that are hard for the opponent to handle,
which is a trait of short pips rubber.
From there it becomes another chance ball
I think this rubber
has real potential. This is something I'd recommend
even to a beginner like me,

Basically, this rubber can do everything. I use it on my backhand, and I felt hitting flat or blocking was better than driving with it. Of course you can drive with it too, but it doesn't put much spin on the ball, so I wouldn't really recommend that. Not only are knuckle-ish blocks easy, but chop blocks were easy too, so I think using those to create chances is a valid approach. Also, being able to go for a smash on any floating ball is another strength of this rubber. It's also good that you can attack backspin without losing against choppers. I think this is the best short pips I've used so far.

This is a review of Moristo SP, more than ten years after its release. I finally understand why Mima-chan uses it. I use the 1.8mm thickness. My first impression when hitting with it was that, for a speed-oriented short pips rubber, it has a nice arc, and compared to other vertical-pip short pips the ball goes higher. The feel is also on the soft side - for men, this softness is something opinions will differ on. If you swing through it firmly you can hit fast shots, but because it's soft you might lose some power. It's also easy to put spin on, and there's a fair amount of spin available too. If you want more spin than this from short pips, horizontal pips are really your only option. Chiquita and drives are also easy to hit. And then there are the knuckle balls - even though it takes spin, somehow it still produces knuckle balls. They're not heavy knuckle balls, but they float in an annoying way toward the opponent's court. Maybe it's precisely because it's soft that it produces knuckle balls. I've used all kinds of speed-oriented vertical-pip short pips rubbers, but I finally arrived at Moristo SP lol. It might be a bit demanding for men on the forehand, but it's an all-rounder on the backhand. Some reviews recommend it to short pips beginners, but I'd recommend it to intermediate players and above who can already handle short pips to some degree.

Just like it says in the title, the push shots are insane! Before I used Moristo, I was using Imperial XS, but I couldn't do pushes with it and was struggling, so someone recommended this and I bought it - but the pushes go in so easily now it got a little scary lol. I've surprised and annoyed quite a few friends with it, so I kind of love this rubber lol. It also lets you do chop-style shorts, which is nice! By the way, I said my blade was a Wang Liqin, but it's actually a Wang Nan!

I think this is super easy to use
I went Booster EV → Symmetry → Moristo SP, and I'd say this sits somewhere between the two I used before!
It produces knuckle balls less easily than Booster EV, but it's easier to hit with!
Compared to Symmetry the ball isn't as fast, but I think it's easier to controlSince switching to Moristo SP I've been able to score points on blocks as well as in rallies!
