This is the blade I used when I first started table tennis. I've tried all kinds of blades since then, and it's such a great blade that I ended up settling back on this very first one. It's a 5-ply, but the core wood is thick, and it's on the faster side among 5-ply blades — yet on Butterfly's speed/spin chart it's rated as "mid-fast," so it's also easy to handle. I have 05FX on my forehand, and the "kyuin" feel that comes through my hand on drives feels great, and it puts on a good amount of spin to match that feel. I feel like it might pair especially well with soft rubbers, but since it's presumably a wood blade, I think it'll work with pretty much any rubber. This blade tends to get seen as one for beginners, but once you actually try it, I feel it's a great-value blade that appeals to everyone. If you're an intermediate player or above and can't decide on a blade, please give this one a try.

This was the first blade I ever bought.
It's very easy to handle and helped push my growth along. It feels natural no matter what rubber you pair it with, and it has power too.

First of all, this blade is light and very easy to control! It's easy to put spin on, and even with a heavy rubber attached, the weight ends up just right.

I test-hit with all kinds of rubber on the forehand.
Basically nothing doesn't work with it, but I wouldn't recommend tacky rubber. It feels like they cancel out each other's strengths.

It says it's recommended for beginners because it's light, but intermediate players can totally use it too!
Just because it's cheap and light doesn't mean it's only for beginners.
Even for intermediate players, since it's light you can put on heavier rubbers, and you don't need to be too picky about rubber choice, so it's a really good blade that you can adapt to your own playing style!

In terms of value for money, I think this is the pinnacle of blades.
