It works well across the board, from beginners to advanced players.
You can also learn all kinds of techniques with it — drives, smashes, pushes, the short game, and more!!!
So yeah, it's really suited as a beginner's first blade.
It also pairs well with short pips and long pips.
And it suits an all-around style close to the table.

I used the FL82G.
It's a full-hinoki (Japanese cypress) 7-ply blade. Among well-known blades, DARKER's 7P-2A series used to be famous for this, but this is one of the few of that type still around.
Despite the softness of the feel, the quick ball release and lack of flex are just like a stiffer blade, giving it a strange, unique sensation.As for the blade's performance, the bounce is moderate and it's not especially easy to put spin on the ball.
Thanks to the thick plies, flicking and blocking are easy to do.
Lightweight units are common, and to make up for the lack of power the weight is shifted toward the head.The grip is a thin, slim FL, but you can still feel the thickness from the plies.
The top ply isn't very strong, so be careful when re-gluing rubber.It's not a blade I'd recommend to everyone, but as Kiso hinoki wood becomes harder to source, this is a blade that's likely to disappear over time.

The ball actually goes where I aim it, so I found it quite easy to control. It also flies enough on its own that it pairs well with tacky rubber too.

You can basically do everything with it.

I'm a shakehand player with inverted tacky rubber on both sides, an all-rounder. I do drives, chops, lobs — pretty much everything. It's been a while since I retired from competitive play.
These days I just play for fun, so I tried a bunch of equipment looking for something enjoyable to hit with, and I ended up with the Septier.
I think its strengths are the feel, the control, and how easy it is to meet the ball.
Hit it hard and it sinks in softly; touch it lightly and it kind of pops off the surface — it has a really distinctive feel. It's easy to vary the strength of your shots, and the sensation on contact comes through your hand so satisfyingly that it's very intuitive to tell how much of your own power made it into the ball.
Also, as an attack-oriented blade, the head is large and the sweet spot is unusually wide, so you get good shots without having to think too much about exactly where you're hitting.
On the downside, when you want to send the ball far without hitting hard — like on a chop or a lob — it tends to land shorter than you'd expect, so you need to hit it with a bit more intent. Hard shots are only average in speed, but the ball carries and sinks well, which makes rallies easy to sustain, so it's just right for playing as a hobby.
My overall personal rating is top marks. As a tournament blade the speed is a bit lacking, but for beginners or people playing casually, I'd recommend this over an expensive blade with special materials.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness Little soft

I bought this blade when I was a total beginner just starting club activities. You can hit really stable shots with it. I'm still using this blade today. I'd especially recommend it to beginners.
