I bought this because I admired Xu Xin, and I've been using it for three years. Honestly, it doesn't have that automatic bounce or the feeling of flying with a light swing that carbon blades have. Instead, it has a strong "manual" feel to the control, so it's easy to add your own sense of how much speed and power you want. If you like the feel of carbon, you might not like this one and might find it doesn't have much bounce.

This is the first time I've used an all-wood blade, and I was surprised how much bounce it has. I found it very easy to use. And above all, it pairs amazingly well with tacky rubber.

The feel, sound, flex, speed, weight, design — everything I look for in a blade, this one is perfect!
I have no intention of switching to any other blade.
I went with the exact same setup as Xu Xin, custom-ordered from overseas, spending a lot of money and time and going through a lot of trouble to make two of them (including a spare), so I'll take good care of them for a long time.
It matches my swing and style perfectly. The hardness, the way it flies, and yet it still has that grip-on-the-ball feel in your hand. It's amazing.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness little hard

In the end, I came back to this blade. I bought and tried all sorts of blades — outer ALC, outer ZLC, inner ALC, inner ZLC, 7-ply, 9-ply, various blades in the Ma Lin series — and the one I came back to was the Intensity NCT. In the end, the Ma Lin Extra Offensive and the Intensity are my favorites, the ones I kept. And of those, the Intensity came out on top. In the end, wood blades are the best. And among those, 5-ply is the best and greatest for me.

On light hits, the hardness of the top ply comes through for a pleasant feel.
It bounces about as much as a thinner inner-carbon blade.
On offense, it grips the ball surprisingly well, and shots land deep on the table with a high, long arc. It's not fast at all, but the amount of spin makes up for it.
Defensively, it's every bit the all-wood blade you'd expect — very stable. A slightly harder rubber than the S1 on my backhand might be more stable.
The short game is beyond complaint. If I'm being dramatic, there's nothing it can't do.

It's a 5-ply blade, but it flies quite a lot. I was surprised when I hit with it. That said, the short game is also easy. It's fairly heavy, so if you do too many serves, you can hurt your wrist. Also, the grip is thick, so whether it's easy to use really depends on the person.

Good hardness and bounce! It has both bounce and flex, so you can produce powerful shots. People say tacky rubber suits it best, but personally I think a higher-hardness tension rubber is better.
