WANOKIWAMI - a unique project. Takeshi Wanaka, a Japanese master in wood processing with the focus on processing noble woods and andro® developers worked together hand in hand. Wanaka, a well known greatness in his field with many international awards, brings all his know-how of selection, processing and bonding premium-wood into this project. The andro® development team has deliberately left a free hand to Takeshi Wanaka in many respects to allow influences from another wood processing branch. Promotion players, coaches and test players have confirmed this in numerous tests with one voice.

This racket takes a little getting used to, but once you do, it's the strongest out there. That said, I found that if I didn't play for a bit, my touch would drift pretty easily. It comes back quickly once you get back into it though. My first impression was that it had a bit of quirkiness but felt soft, so I figured anyone could use it - but as you go up in rubber thickness, I don't think it would work for beginners anymore. For intermediate players and above though, I'd say without hesitation this is the strongest racket out there for choppers.

The first rubber I put on this racket was Tackiness Chop, and I felt it didn't carry at all. But then I switched to Hurricane Turbo Orange, and it was a completely different feel - it held the ball down well and the shots really carried, which was great. Eventually though, I needed a bit more carry on my attacks to keep winning, so I switched to Tenergy. As for 05 vs 80: 05 felt like it had a bit less spin than Hurricane Turbo Orange, but the difference wasn't huge. 80 had a nice balance between attack and chopping - I tried a backhand chop once and it held the ball down really well, so if you're good at pivoting to your backhand, I'd recommend a style where you pivot and counter mid-match. If you put Tackiness Chop on, the ball won't carry much, so I think even beginners could handle it. It might feel unstable until you get used to it at first, but you just have to push through until it clicks. Everyone should give it a try at least once. Of the rubbers I described above, 05 suited me best overall. This is just my personal impression. The thickness is thick.

When attacking, the ball really carries and lands in the opponent's court, and when chopping, you get a tremendous amount of spin on it. It just takes some getting used to at first. But once you're used to it, I think even beginners can use it. For intermediate to advanced players, I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to mix in solid attacks while still chopping hard. Definitely give it a try.

1) With Tenergy 05 and V>15 Extra... I think it's a great combination.
Attack: The power transfers well, giving you speed and plenty of spin. Though I did find it a bit hard to keep the ball in. Curving loops are easy to do.
Forehand chop (against hard shots): It holds the ball down way better than you'd expect from a tension rubber, and you still get good bite.
Forehand chop (against soft shots): Easy to control, and you can chop it sharp yourself too.2) With Hurricane Pro3 Turbo Orange... I've been using this combo for about 2 years now, and I think it's the best one.
Attack: The power transfers well, giving you speed and plenty of spin. It's less about blowing shots past your opponent untouched and more that their block returns pop up or wobble slightly, leading to a lot of mishits on their end - which turns your attacks into points.
Forehand chop (against hard shots): It really holds the ball down well, keeping your chop stable, while still giving you heavy, sharply cut chops whenever you want.
Forehand chop (against soft shots): Just as stable as against hard shots, and you can rip a sharp chop easily on your own. Knuckle chops come out easily too.Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness Little soft

This is a review with Mantra M on the forehand and Curl P-H on the backhand. Honestly, it's insane!
That's really all there is to say. When chopping, it holds the ball down perfectly, and on attacks the ball flies out with crazy extra reach, giving opponents trouble. I'd recommend super extra-thin long pips for it. I thought it was an excellent blade that works with any rubber!Overall Speed Spin Control Touch Hardness little hard

I used to use the Kouji Matsushita Special. Since my style is built around varying spin, I switched to the Ao!
The chop flies out slowly, so you can easily control fast topspin drives! If your swing speed is slow the ball tends to float up, so it seems important to swing fast and follow all the way through. It holds the ball down well, so even if you really rip the chop, it doesn't fly up!
Compared to the Kouji Matsushita Special, the initial speed on attacks is slower. It holds the ball well, so shots fly in a high arcing trajectory, and it seemed just right to angle the racket face down a fair amount when hitting!
The feel is soft but with a solid core, and the chop is really stable!
Pushes go in low, and long pips don't float up much either!
The long-pips backhand holds the ball a bit too much, which felt a little tricky.
It suits a player who scores points through chopping, but if you attack a lot, a blade with a bit more bounce would probably be better.
