Yasaka Mark V is one of the oldest and well known rubbers in the history of this sport. Originally released in 1969, this rubber helped revolutionize table tennis by proving that a heavy topspin attacking style was not only viable, but would also become the dominant style of table tennis from the 1970s all the way to today. These days, Mark V is still characterized by its grippy surface, medium sponge, and superb control. Today, it is a solid choice for beginners with an allround blade and all the way up to high level play when boosted and on a more offensive blade.

Personally, I like this one better.
The reason is I think it has more spin than Sriver.
That said, it does seem to wear out faster...

I used to have this on both sides with a Nittaku Sanarion S.
It's a rubber with great control and absolutely no quirks. The hardness of both the sheet and the sponge is just right, so it handles everything competently.
Spin is easy to put on the ball, and with a strong impact you can get a decent amount of speed too.
Intermediate players and above might find the power lacking, but for beginners I think this is more than high-spec enough.All Speed Spin Control

Compared to Butterfly's Sriver, it feels softer and more spin-oriented than speed-oriented.
It's very easy to control, so it's great for aiming your shots at specific spots.
I do think the grip on the ball wears out faster than with Sriver, though.All Speed Spin Control

It's heavier than other rubbers of the same thickness. Personally, I don't think it pairs well with Butterfly's SK7-series blades.
Spin and speed aren't anything special, but it's easy to control, so I'd recommend it for beginners. Advanced and intermediate players will probably find it lacking.
