Tenergy 25 was aimed at players who attack close to the table, but as an FX it's gotten softer, so I think it's now easier to attack from mid-distance too.
Being an FX, it inevitably falls short of regular Tenergy 25 in speed, but isn't it actually better in spin and control? Also, attacking with topspin drives and flicks is very easy. You can score on the third ball with a spinny serve, or drop back to mid-distance and break through in a topspin rally. I'd been using Tenergy 25, and this time I tried Tenergy 25 FX for the first time.
After hitting a few balls, even though it's the FX version, the feel was a bit harder than I expected.
It seemed like the 25's topsheet is what's giving it that firmness.Overall, the rubber has very few quirks. I could create the arc I wanted, and thanks to the softer sponge, flat hits, smashes, and loops all became easier to execute.
In particular, the feel for lifting backspin balls is very easy to grasp, so I'd especially recommend it to anyone who's been bothered by how quickly the ball comes off the rubber since the switch to plastic balls.
I mostly used it on my forehand, but the short game doesn't get out of control either — overall it's a wonderfully well-balanced rubber.

It's the strongest right up close to the table — even topspin drives over the table get solid spin on them, which I like.
On the backhand, blocks tend to drop off the table, so I can't really recommend it for the backhand. The ball also dropped when I tried to swing a drive up from low. But right up at the table, it really did feel like it had no weaknesses.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Soft

Comparing it to Tenergy 25:
Good points
Countering is easier.
Being FX, it's light and easy to swing all the way through.
It's soft, so the ball goes in obediently.
The short game is dramatically easier.Bad points
Spin amount drops.
A lot of smashes come out light/weak.
Drive speed fades quickly at mid-distance from the table.
That kind of thing.
I used to use it on my forehand, but now I use the regular 25. I think this one is better suited for the backhand.
Personally, I'd recommend it for the backhand of a close-to-the-table, fast-attacking style penhold player using short pips. My junior teammate also put it on his backhand, tried it out, and hasn't needed to buy a replacement in about a year.All Speed Spin Control Hardness Soft

Short-game techniques like flicking short balls on the forehand side are very easy to do. Countering is also very easy, so it should suit players who like fast topspin attacks close to the table. Serves also spin well, but the downside is that it doesn't have much bounce. Because of that low bounce, the short game is easy, but I found it a bit harder when stepping back for topspin rallies.

This rubber has great balance within the Tenergy series.

Not just this 25FX, but the whole Tenergy FX series concept is basically "an easier-to-use Tenergy," and that's exactly what this is: the regular 25 was specialized for countering, and while countering got a bit harder with this one, it's become much easier to play an all-round game with it!
