V > 01 Stiff is another innovation of the VICTAS V > 01 premium series for ambitious players. The German-Japanese team of designers (GJ Tec) succeeded in developing an extremely spinny offensive rubber which offers the perfect balance between speed and control to variable offensive strategists. The pimple geometry which is slightly more direct compared to V > 01, as well as the maximum tension of the High Energy Tension rubber sheet of V > 01 Stiff provide for excellent energy transfer when the bat hits the ball, thus developing great speed. The open-pore, state-of-the-art 45° high-performance sponge which is slightly softer than in V > 01 provides for more control in your play (“Power & Balance concept”). With this new sponge / top rubber sheet combination, V > 01 Stiff enables extremely fast and spinny topspin strokes with an aggressive ball trajectory. Especially in mid-distance topspin rallies, the V > 01 Stiff rubber unfolds its full potential. The enormous tackiness of the High Energy Tension rubber additionally enables dangerous, variant-rich serves and magnificent control in over-the-table play.

After putting it on, it turned out to be pretty heavy. It was a gift, so the thickness was medium, but the whole thing came out to over 180 grams. First off, it's got a bit of that wild-horse feel like the plain version, but I think it's turned into an easy-to-use rubber. Both speed and spin are pretty decent. The spin feels a bit above average. The arc feels high. When you smash, the arc kicks in and it ends up feeling more like a drive — stable, but it doesn't turn into a very fast ball. When you hit a drive, the arc goes up even more and I kept sailing long. That said, if you drive with the image of matching the opponent's spin, it gets faster than a smash, and I think this is where some people will feel that wild-horse quality. Next, the short game near the table isn't hard to do — you can do it normally. Chiquita also needs to be hit with the image of matching the opponent's spin, otherwise the arc gets high and you get that wild-horse feeling. But the block is amazing! If you make contact, it goes in. I think this is its biggest selling point! Because of the wild-horse feel there's some compatibility depending on the player, but if you can master it, you'll probably get pretty strong. I want to work on mastering it myself too.

I've only been playing table tennis for about half a year,
but even for someone whose spin is still weak,
this is a great racket that generates good spin.
It's also got speed,

This is a review using it on a Septia.
Among spin-oriented rubbers, I think this one leans toward speed.
It's got solid bounce, and you can adjust how high or low the arc is with your swing speed, so it's easy to handle.
Since it's on a 7-ply hinoki blade, even when I get pushed back from the table I can raise the arc and fight back.
Not just speed, the spin is also excellent, so I'd recommend it for penhold loopers using just one side.
It's an easy switch from Evolution MX-P or Tenergy 05.All Speed Spin Control

I felt like topspin drives were really easy to hit with this.
You can hit a good drive with light effort, so I thought it was a pretty great rubber.
When I tried a curve drive, I was able to produce one with a lot of spin on it.
Flicks and pushes are stable too.
That said, there were times I felt it bounced too much.
When smashing a slightly high ball with full force, you almost always overshoot unless you angle the blade quite far down.
As long as you're careful about that, I think you'll be fine.All Speed Spin Control

With celluloid balls it had too much spin, but with plastic balls it puts just the right amount of spin on.

Just like advertised! It arcs beautifully and feels very stable. This time I used it on my backhand, but if you use it on your forehand, it's stable too, though because it arcs so much, playing from further back than mid-distance might cause you to catch the net. I think it's a rubber suited for the backhand - very easy to use!

What stood out to me most during the test-hit was the trajectory. My backhand is a bit weak and I tend to rely on meet-style shots, which usually gives a flat, straight trajectory, but when I used this rubber…
No matter how I hit it, it produced a stable arc every time. So the ball itself stayed stable. I thought that was interesting and moved straight on to game practice… but, well.
That very trajectory ended up working against me, in a way…
Even on shots meant to finish the point, the ball came out looking clean. I was surprised.
But the opponent got used to it and was basically waiting to pick it off. On top of that, the short game brought out the worst side of spin-oriented tension rubber, in the bad sense…
It bounces too much, making it hard to control.
That said, it's stable when it comes to bigger strokes, so I'd say it's a rubber that works well for just about anyone. As expected of VICTAS.
