V > 01 Stiff is another innovation of the VICTAS V > 01 premium series for ambitious players. The German-Japanese team of designers (GJ Tec) succeeded in developing an extremely spinny offensive rubber which offers the perfect balance between speed and control to variable offensive strategists. The pimple geometry which is slightly more direct compared to V > 01, as well as the maximum tension of the High Energy Tension rubber sheet of V > 01 Stiff provide for excellent energy transfer when the bat hits the ball, thus developing great speed. The open-pore, state-of-the-art 45° high-performance sponge which is slightly softer than in V > 01 provides for more control in your play (“Power & Balance concept”). With this new sponge / top rubber sheet combination, V > 01 Stiff enables extremely fast and spinny topspin strokes with an aggressive ball trajectory. Bounces well and grips a lot of spin too. It's a rubber that makes mid-distance drives feel great. The overall balance is so good it has the potential to work on both forehand and backhand with shakehand, Chinese penhold, or Japanese penhold blades.

At medium hardness, this is top level! If you feel Fastarc C-1 is too soft, I highly recommend this. The arc is high, and the spin, speed, and control all feel great! You can't deny the distinctive feel and the wild-ball feeling typical of the V series, but it seems usable on both forehand and backhand. Personally, if you can overcome the quirk that even flat hits tend to arc, I think intermediate players would like it on both sides, and advanced players would like it a lot on the backhand. The topsheet is really hard, so beginners will probably find it quite tough - it takes a fair bit of strength. Drives are very stable because the arc is so high, chiquita is fast too, and flat hitting takes some getting used to but can produce pretty stable shots. It has some weaknesses in short-game techniques other than chiquita, like the push, but everything else is so good that I'd highly recommend it to drive-oriented players who want to keep the short game to a minimum and attack hard with drives and flat hits.

It's moderately firm but bounces really well, and the spin is fantastic too. It's not too hard, so it's easy to control as well. I think the performance is beyond what the price suggests. Personally it was a perfect fit for my forehand. I also tried it on the backhand, and I think it suits backhand shots that don't put too much spin on the ball.

It's so backhand-friendly I wondered if Nakamura-san had designed it specifically for the backhand.
How easy it is to block and hit
I mainly play with short pips,
but with this rubber I forget I even have inverted rubber on that side
it's a strange rubber that lets me block and hit with the same feel as short pips.
The thickness is 1.8 but it's quite heavy
at 150x157 size it's 50g
Backhand drives are doable too,
but since my backhand drive comes from normally using short pips,
only that kind of ball came out.

The arc is high and my play became more stable, but I sometimes overshot when driving close to the table.
It's easy to put spin on the ball and the spin amount was decent,

The first thing I thought after using this rubber was that the arc is high, so it feels really stable! Because of that, the net misses I used to get a lot of are gone!
That said, because the arc is high, even when you're trying to finish the point with one big shot, the arc still ends up high, so I think it's better to focus on stability and rally rather than going for one powerful shot.
I hit with it on both forehand and backhand, and I think it works fine on either side!

*Note: I'm a junior high school student, a beginner chopper. I use medium thickness on my forehand.
○ Attacking technique
The sheet grips the ball firmly, making it easy to produce an arc on drives, so you can hit drives with good stability. It leans toward spin over speed.
Smashes are flawless too.
○ Defensive technique
Chops are excellent both in terms of sharpness and stability. Even when you really cut into it, the ball doesn't fly too far, letting you produce deep, slow, sharp chops. You can also clearly vary how much backspin you put on.
Blocking is stable too. Pushes bite well too, but be careful, since they're easily affected by the opponent's spin.
○ Serve and receive
Serves are easy to do, both short and long. The bite is outstanding, and you can rack up plenty of service aces. It suits a brushing motion better than sinking the ball in.

◎ Summary
Attacking is easy, and you can also produce sharp chops that die on the bounce — I really think this is an all-around rubber!
