The sheet looks really clean. It has a distinctive smell.
Spin definitely bites. The label says high-tension, but it actually feels more like a German-style tension rubber (which makes sense, since it's the entry rubber in the Ventus line).
The bounce is good too.
Among recent rubbers, I think this is the best value for money out there. It's marketed toward beginners, but I feel like you could keep using it for a long time even after you get pretty good. All Speed Spin Control Hardness Little hard

It's cheap, lasts a long time, and is easy to control, so I'd recommend it as a first rubber for beginners. It also has very few quirks, so it's ideal for learning the basics. From using it myself, I thought the performance was way better than something popular like Mark V. I think it's good to master the basics — drives, pushes, and so on — with Basic, and then re-rubber with something like Ventus Spin or Yasaka's Rigan.

I didn't actually buy this one myself, so this is just a review based on trying it out.
It's billed as a modern high-tension rubber, but it doesn't really reach high-tension territory.
Honestly, other than control, it just can't compete with real tension rubber. Drives, blocks, and counters all end up lacking in distance and speed.
I thought it might work as a first rubber... but in a world where tension rubbers are everywhere, I have to wonder if it'd be quicker to just start with an entry-level tension rubber like Ligan, Fly Att, or Roundell. Thinking about it competitively, honestly I'd say this is more of a beginner's rubber. But it's amazing for enjoy-table-tennis! No matter how hard you swing, it barely goes over, so you can smash away like a pro! It's not fast, so rallies keep going too! Highly recommended if you play table tennis for fun rather than to win.

Perplexity (Experience: More than 20 years) A new era of high-elasticity rubber. Sriver EL + arc

The bounce is about like Sriver or Mark V.
But since it grips the ball well, it flies a little farther. It's not some arc monster like the Zac, just a moderate, well-judged arc.
Spin is easy to put on the ball, and you can really feel it biting in.As a beginner rubber, it's plenty solid enough to become a classic — a really well-balanced rubber overall.

The first thing I noticed was how easy it was to control. It lands on the table consistently, so you can think about your target course and aim your shots. For me, the hardness was easy to work with, and it was easy to use overall. It's true that it can be recommended to just about anyone, but personally I think it's best suited for beginner to intermediate players.
