Highly rated as a beginner-oriented hard sponge rubber, known for excellent control and affordability. However, some users note it may lack power compared to tension rubbers in competitive modern table tennis.
    ■ Frequently Mentioned Points
    • Superior control properties ideal for learning fundamentals
    • Exceptional value at under 2,000 yen
    • Reliable backhand drive that lands consistently
    • Versatile with minimal quirks for various playstyles
    • Suitable for both recreational and competitive play
    ■ Representative Voices
▲ PositiveThe sheet has a quality feel that exceeds its price point, with better elasticity than Mark V. I cannot find any drawbacks. This is a promising hard sponge rubber that outperforms Mark V in nearly every aspect.
▽ CriticalIn today's tension-dominant world, the drive lacks speed and power, making one question whether starting with entry-level tension rubbers would be more efficient.

This is more than good enough a rubber even for beginners to use.
I'm a beginner myself, and I can use it just fine.

I tried putting it on my backhand.
It generates a decent amount of spin, and since it's soft, it's easy to control.
I'd gotten used to tension rubbers that generated spin automatically, but I tried going back to basics with this one, and I was surprised at how easy it is to use!
It's less affected by the opponent's spin, and backhand control shots became easier, so I can aim precisely at my target course and play with a calm mind.
If you've gotten too used to tension rubbers, why not reconsider with this one?

I used the one that came pre-attached to a beginner racket. The control is good, and it has that satisfying feel you get from a soft rubber when hitting a topspin drive. It doesn't have any particularly standout traits, but I think it's a beginner-friendly rubber that can handle anything reasonably well. It's also very cheap, so I think it's perfect as a first rubber for someone just starting out in table tennis.

Natto (Experience: 2〜3 years) A beginner rubber - first-years at my school use it too

      Reviews by user

This is really a beginner-oriented rubber. Spin, speed, control — it's all good, a rubber with nothing to complain about. As I mentioned in the title, the first-years at my school use it too. According to them, "honestly, we don't really get it lol." If you want to get better at table tennis, give this rubber a try!

Alpha Geruu Best value, for real

      Reviews by user

You can master every technique with this rubber — flat hits, topspin drives, pushes, hitting against backspin, all of it!
And the value for money is great too — most shops sell it around 2,000 yen, and some even under that.
Personally, I also like the VICTAS logo — it looks cool.

Beginner daddy (Experience: 4〜5 years) An entry-level rubber from the plastic-ball era

      Reviews by user

This is a high-bounce entry-level rubber updated for the plastic ball.
It's also the cheapest option out there, so there's no reason not to pick it.
