    A POWERFUL STORM

Z2 has a long, thin pimple structure and a large pored sponge. This 47.5° medium hard sponge is ideal for many players. One feels the storm and its power with the first contact and can direct use this energy where one wants. Great speed, enormous rebound, with excellent spin and speed characteristics.

    A concentrated demolition charge!

      Reviews by user

This is a rubber with a thin topsheet. Because of that, it tends to feel softer than the listed hardness.
Basic hitting sends the ball flying solidly, but since it draws a bit of an arc, you don't really get a sense of it overshooting. For drives, you can either sink the ball in or brush it, and both work, but sinking the ball in lets you get both speed and spin at the same time. Hitting against backspin and chop-blocking are also stable.
The short game doesn't bounce too much either, so you don't have to be unusually careful there.
This is a balance-focused rubber that achieves both speed and spin. I'd recommend it to anyone except people who don't get along with thin-topsheet rubbers.

Ellen Yeager (Experience: 2〜3 years) Super rubber

      Reviews by user

When I switched back from penhold to shakehand, I had been using this one before switching, so I bought a fresh one. So this review includes my impressions from when I was using penhold too. First and foremost, it gets amazing spin. From serves to spin techniques, every ball comes out with strong spin. It's easy to get a good arc, and the stability is perfect. Also, unlike the Z1, the ball sinks into it easily and it holds the ball wonderfully. Because of that, blocks stop firmly. The speed isn't overwhelming, so the short game is very easy to do too. If I had to name a drawback of this rubber, it would be that the sponge shrinks over time. So you need to be careful when re-mounting it. Other than that, it's a flawless rubber. It suits both forehand and backhand. I'd recommend this rubber to people who are confident in their power, or who want to tone down the bounce of a blade that flies too much.

The speed is amazing. Counters are easy to do and produce really fast balls. Hitting against backspin is a bit tricky, and the short game is a bit tricky too, but even taking that into account, I think it's still good.

The blue sponge really looks cool. This rubber has excellent touch and speed, topspin is really easy, and you can feel the spin coming off your stroke. The control is pretty good too, you can pull off some nice blocks. I've been using this rubber to improve and learn my counter game. The only issue is durability — I've had to replace it many times — but it's definitely worth it.

      Reviews by user

I used the 2.1mm on my forehand.
When you really hit hard, it produces a lot of speed. Since it prioritizes power over stability, I felt it suits players who go for a one-shot finish rather than trading topspin rallies.

The sponge is fairly hard so the ball doesn't sink in that much, but thanks to the topsheet it still lifts the ball well. Push attacks and chops against backspin also felt stable.

MR-01 (Experience: More than 20 years) Good for forehand. Backhand, questionable?

      Reviews by user

This sits between the Z1 and Z3. The Z1 sends drives out on a straight, flat trajectory, the Z3 holds the ball well and lets you really get spin on it, and with the Z2 I felt like the ball drops suddenly at the end. At first I used Z1 on my forehand and Z2 on my backhand, but I switched them. My forehand over-hits decreased and my backhand blocks extended further, so personally I felt this setup suited me better. When I used it on the backhand, though, it felt kind of in-between and unclear. I think that's the downside of being positioned between the Z1 and Z3.
I'd recommend it for the forehand of players who find the Z3 lacking but can't control the Z1.

I used this on my forehand. Compared to Mizuno's GF PRO, this rubber
is more affected by your opponent's spin. With this rubber you can hit speed-focused drives. If you want more spin, go with the GF PRO. This rubber is cheaper, so
      I don't think you'd regret buying it.
That said, I think it's a bit hard to use if you don't have the technique to really sink the ball into the sponge.
